Articuno usefulness?

Sadly yes, Hurricane does nothing for it offensively that Ice Beam and Blizzard can't do better. If you want Hurricane for the novelty you're better off raiding another Articuno rather than squandering your hundo.

If you are gonna power him up then yes, I believe Ice Beam is the best move.
Make sure you have at least another Hurricane articuno, because its legacy. If anything just like a trophy.

It's always possible that something in the future will be doubly weak to flying attacks and hit with ice and water, so that Hurricane Articuno is a great counter. That said, saving a hundo for that is kind of silly.

With Mamoswine just around the corner, expected to be the best Ice pokemon in the game for a while, it probably doesn't matter that much what you do, though. Not sure I'd invest in H Arti or IB/Bz Arti right now.

I had that reaction too. When I thought about it, I agreed with the rating. For grass, ice beam is better, even if you insist on using Articuno. For bug and fighting, there's moltres and charizard, among many others. There's no need for a flying attack on Articuno, except as a trophy.

Yes. TM off hurricane. Thogh I dont know what use an articuno will be getting if gen IV comes out after Mewtwo, given the number of good ice types it has to offer

I’d try to catch more so you have the exclusive move and then change Hurricane for Ice Beam. But at the same time Articuno will likely be outclassed soon so it won’t see much use unless you really want to power it up.
