Argh - could we NOT have an event for a few days?

Since these spawn events started happening, ditto's just do not seem to spawn around here. I've been searching for weeks with no luck for one ditto for my Mew quest. All the places where they seemed to spawn are now just full of event spawns :-(

Especially when the event is fighting types. Does anyone not already have an army of machamps and similar fighting types after Kanto event?
