Are you Excellent?

I have started aiming for more XP per catch and am having trouble getting more than 10% of my throws to be "Excellent"

Just wondering if this considered to be pretty easy for some at this point

All my Excellents are accidental, but I've learned to throw a decent Curveball, even if I miss with a few balls it's less annoying/time consuming than see a 'mon break free several times.

I don't think I've got an excellent more than a few times on purpose, not that I've tried a whole lot. 10% sounds good, 5% would even be good considering how finicky it is. I don't know if curveballs throw it off but it would look dead center and not count.

Comparing the difficulty of "great" and "excellent" the bonus needs to be bumped way up.

The best way to get the most xp per catch is to aim for great. I can get more than 70% great throws without trouble, while excellent requires 2 hands and more concentration, most times I have to almost stop walking while I can do a great throw with one hand while running. Don't try the running throw if you need 2 hands to throw your throws, you will end up getting yourself hurt, trust me I know=/

I could get about 25% of my throws to be excellent throwing all balls with curve (exclude weedle, pidgey). This doesn't off set the extra XP of 4 Great throws versus 1 excellent.

Therefore I keep consistent throwing great throws. The only Pokemon I aim for excellent are the ones that start with a big circle such as the starters of Gen1 and Raticate.

Why Raticate? And excellent throws are just a bonus score IMO cause I can't hit any better than maybe 5%. And I would rather get the great throw bonus cause it consistently hits on maybe 40% of my throws so I'm coming out ahead on XP over excellent throws.

I have unsurprisingly found that each species of mon has it's own excellent range. I can throw excellent on slowpoke 100% of the time. So far its the only sweet spot I've found.
