Are we missing something here?

Everyone is complaining that 6 defenders will be easy to take down with the current squad they've built... But what if...

... You HAVE to use a different attacker per defender?

Also, what if you can't use more than one species?

That would make it more interesting. No?

You guys are forgetting the first point in the article about the changes here in game press.

• Revised gym defense mechanics

This could also mean tweaking the defenders performance itself. Just removing the 1,5 sec quick move cd would be a major change for instance. We gotta wait and see before bashing out the 6 defender system

I wouldn't be happy with either of those, especially the species limit for attacking.
However, with the raid boss Pokémon, they have clearly tweaked defensive stats to make them harder to take down. I'm hoping our Pokémon will be better gym defenders and have a chance of holding off an attacking line up. Only Blissey gave people issues before and it would be great to have a challenge when attacking.

Already getting tired of the LV10 blue tower. I am happy about the change.

I hope we're missing LOTS here. Mostly because I'm not seeing how this rework helps low-level players. It still looks like the higher your level, the more you're going to be able to control the Gyms.

I'm glad I'm up at level 33; if I was just starting out now? I would quit once I hit Level 5 and realized that I was literally 1,000,000 XP and a HELL of a lot of Luck away from being able to even start competing in the Gyms. Nothing I see from this update changes that particular issue.

Disagree. A low level player could glom along in a raid, then get lucky and catch a great boss mon (Ho-Oh or Mewtwo, anyone?) That would instantly make them a VERY relevant player. Still, it's kind of waiting for the golden ticket, more luck than skill or dedication.

We'll see how it all shakes out.

See: hell of a lot of luck. And sure , that Mewtwo sounds great - but unless that mon is going to be a high level regardless of the level of the trainer... that newbie who hit the jackpot now has a level 6 Mewto.

Kinda like catching a level 6 Blissey or Lapras or Snorlax. Yay... now you're a single mon player for the next 500km of walking.
