Are we being naive trying for the Alolan eggs?

Yes, after my first egg I've been actively trying to avoid them. I've messed up a couple times though, going several stops without an egg and not realising I wasn't full when I opened a gift. And go figure, the two I've hatched were both meowth

I just trying to get the alolan with geoloc, nice to have alolan from around the gobe

I plan to move away from 7k eggs once I finally get a Vulpix.

I've hatched 2 Meowth so far so not really close to the point of wanting to avoid them.
That said, they do give better dust rewards per kilometer than 5k or 10k eggs so they aren't worthless in the long run nonetheless.

I currently value the 10k and 7k equally, for chances at good mon and dex entries for Vulpix and Grimer. Once I have those, I won't care about Alolan gifts versus 10ks, except from distant friends for the distance.
