Arceus Release

Kelenestus wrote about Arceus earlier, so I did a little research and found out niantic has a lot of possibilities with The God of Pokemon. First, in the main series Arceus can acquire every single type in game, wich is a huge boon. We have 2 possibilities: Normal Arceus or every single type Arceus (18). Personal thoughts aside, let's dream a bit. In order to do so, niantic will have to introduce an item that can be held by a pokemon (don't think so) or settle Arceus type (whatever it is). Imagine you can catch 18 different Gods!! Obviously every single trainer will wan't to have them all, so the raid will be very profitable for Niantic (this is what they wan't after all). Moves? Is not Mew, can't learn every single move in the game, but it's pretty close (it can even learn the exclusive CD starter moves!!). But it falls short in some Fast moves, so a way to remedy this (and type concern) Niantic could release it's signature move -Judgement- as a fast move. Judgement matches Arceus type, (ie grass will have fast grass move, same with fairy and so on). Charged moves, Arceus is a beast!! With the exception of Fairy, the other 17 types are covered, and with the best possible options in most cases (LResort, quake, sludge bomb, psyshock, FBlast, HCannon, BBurn, AAce, FPlant, SBall, DPulse, IHead, SEdge, TBolt, Outrage, XScissor, IBeam, to name one of each).
As a raid can be the most difficult and funny to play, not even Knowing Arceus Type until you face it (like in main series).
Competitively, having the possibility of a lot of charged moves, unpredictability can make Arceus a much better Mew, and although not the best in every type, it would be a PvP glue fitting every single archetype. For raids and PvE, we have more specialiced mons in most cases, but again it will be a good option.
I know Niantic won't do that, but something in between a normal mon not even reaching 4000 cp (too bad for a God) and my dream could be amazing. At least 18 collective useless mons with crap moves would be beyond expectations
Edit: I know movesets are "set in stone", now we only have Normal arceus with not so good moves, but i was thinking about the whole release, like the mewtwo case, released as a normal raid with different moves. Maybe in group of 3 (ie grass fire water with 3 possible charge moves, one of each), that seems more likely

Maybe it could work like hidden power does, a random type? For example, after raiding Arceus and catching him, he will randomly be one of the 18 types.

However, as Niantic being predictable as always, this probably won't happen anytime soon haha

Exactly what I was thinking. Also, Hidden Power was a choice, but not having the possibility of normal/fairy type was a let down. At least they could have given HP in Arceus moveset already. My god, Iron Tail, why???

Hidden power can't be fairy or normal in the main series, and it's pretty obvious that they're gearing up for future connectivity with the 8th gen of the main series.

Funny thing about iron tail, iron tail from aggron and iron tail from arceus will deal near the same damage

Aggron's 198 atk adjusted for stab *1.2 = 237.6
Arceus's unSTAB attack stat= 238

its not like iron tail is a bad move statwise, its quite good, its stats, ie DPS and EPS are similar to water fall, its just the pokemon that get iron tail dont tend to be good.

Would Arceus in Pokemon GO completely ruin variety? Almost every raid will just be full of people using 6 Arceus for each type..

Doubt coz other pokemon may be better to use than arceus, for example ms/eq groudon would be a better choice over arceus ground

There are 3 reasons this won't happen:
1 they won't allow that. See promising heatran getting fire blast. Dragon Arceus with twister or Ghost with shadow sneak are options too
2 Even with its best possible moveset it won't be #1 mon in most cases (kyogre, groudon, rayquaza, machamp, metagross, mewtwo, etc.)
3 Resources (mew syndrome) In case every type is released, TM the desired move its going to be a headache, only affordable for 1 or 2 Arceus even by hardcore players, maybe less. Just use your Electivire or Moltres.
Arceus has the chance to be unpredictable, not game breaking

Arceus is a pokemon that there are just too many possibilities for what they can do with it. While its ability is tied into what it does, they have implemented something similar with castform.

We dont know if the moveset that was datamined a while back is going to be the only Arceus moveset and forme we get, or if that was just Normal-Arceus. If they make some mechanic where its possible to change Arceus' type, maybe being dictated by its charge move? it could be a good TM' able protean like mewtwo, though a much, much more TM intensive one. Or we could jut get what we have it as right now, a normal type with ok moves.

Arceus with 18 types could remain the EX Raid Boss for years with its type either randomly determined upon hatch, randomly determined when catching or rotating each EX Raid cycle (or month).

It would absolutely break the meta and its candy would be the most valuable ever.

I would also like to point out that all of Arceus' types were not available upon initial release. I don't see any reason to assume Niantic wouldn't do the same thing. I would also think we don't want it to get all 18 types for the reason that if they do it might get hit with a poor moveset (i.e. Hidden Power) and the main Quick Move. I would honestly rather see one form and a better moveset.

|Here's my hypothetical design.

It has 1 charge move of all 18 types, when you use a Charge TM on it, Arceus type changes to match the move of its primary charge move.

The expense of a 1/17 (1/16 if you unlock a secondary) means even using 10 charge TMs has over a 50% chance of not getting the move you want.

I'd also change Hidden Power to reroll its type every time you switch to it. Again making a chance of getting what you want extraoridinary small.

All of this would help ninatic sell raid passes to get more TMs and be a win for all.
