Arcanine IMO extremely underrated against Articuno

I know many rankings and counters are based off pure DPS and most have Flareon as a supreme counter. In real battles though my Arcanine with FF/FB is such a monster we had 8 people he lasted through 25% of the bosses health. Not a question just my thoughts, what other mons verse current legendaries do you feel is underrated? Also Lapras is beast against Lugia

I'm right with you there...If you are always in a group of 20, then I'd go DPS all the way, but if you are in the 8-12 groups and your team will get knocked out, I'm going to stick all my tanks at the end...Including my 3100 Blisseys....

I finally Charge TMed my Dragon Pulse Lapras to Ice Beam...Since my Lapras were both maxed out from the old Gym days before Lapras got nerfed, they should be solid against Lugia.

I also have a 95% Arcanine with FF/WC that I plan to bring to any Articuno Raid...as well as my maxed Vaporeon for neutral damage, but take NVE damage back...as well as a Snorlax with L/HS.

Feels bad when you're the Lvl 37+ player among a sea of Level 20s and you get 0 balls for damage and 0 for team simply due to you being knocked out...and rejoining...

Wild Charge is better than Fire Blast, less risky and also deals super effective damage, despite being without STAB.

I agree. My two legacy Bite/Flamethrower Arcanine's always serve me well.

To be honest, I can't really contribute any underrated's as I only ever use my Tyranitar army, my Arcanine's and whoever else is recommended as there is never enough high level players battling for me to experiment.

Yeah, I have a level 39 ff/ft Arcanine that I use along with my 2 Flareons against Articuno.

I think Magneton is underrated. Never seen anyone else use one.

I also love my Ampharos against Articuno, most will say Jolteon but he is way to fragile in my opinion, Ampharos dishes out good damage and takes it like a boss.

I like mine too and have given him some run when groups were larger but oh man I hate fire blast. So slow with meh payoff.

Yeah, I have a 100% with fb that I haven't touched. Tempted to give it wc and then power it up.

Just completed an Articuno raid, we had a big group of 15--including a 39, 38, 36, 35....we beat it 100 seconds. Usually how long it takes bigger groups. The 38 insisted straight Machamps would be "super effective against ice", glad he was on the other color b/c the flying completely negates his theory. I did 2 level 30 TTs, level 25 TT, 3 level 30 double rock Golems--no dodging against Icy Wind. 3 TTs dead and took a quarter out of a Golem. In a small/mid size group and you really are trying to survive that long (200+secs) w/o fainting consider tanky fire and water options. Caught my 3rd out of 4 Articuno. Still 0 and 1 on Lugia

I totally agree. Did my first Articuno raid tonight with a group of six. We didn't think we had a chance, but the clock was running down and we decided to go for it. We decided to focus on fire types since Golem is too risky and only one of us had an SE Ttar. So most of us went in with Arcanine. I had FF/FB, FF/WC, and FF/FT Arcs and rounded out my team with FS/O Flareon and Charizard and a Jolteon. We beat it with about 3 seconds left on the clock. My first team all fainted, so I quickly went back in with the defaults (THANKS, Niantic, for insisting that we all should use Blissey and Snorlax in raids!). But I still got 10 balls, which surprised me.

Only one of us caught it, and, sadly, it wasn't me. But I was happy for the kid who did.

I used my 6 Lapras against Articuno when I saw that it is weak against ice attack. But when in battle, I did not see the SE word and for the next battle, I use both Flareon and Arcanine and it shows both fire attacks as SE.
