AR crashes phone, but I can't disable it.

Moto G3.

I can't get to the catch screen to turn off AR because the game crashes when ever I select a pokemon. Can I turn off AR without clicking on a Pokemon to catch?

This happened after I cleared my cache because the game got slow after the most recent update, but now I can't even catch the increased starting Pokemon spawns.
