AR Camera mode toggle missing

I am running Pokemon Go 0.35.0 on an iPhone using iOS 9.3.5. The AR camera mode was turned off, and now the toggle switch in the upper right-hand corner of the capture mode screen is missing and there is no way to return to AR. I have checked the settings in the phone and camera access is enabled. I have logged in and out of Pokemon Go. Toggled the camera on and off in the phone settings. Turned the phone on and off. All to no avail.
