AR+ bug fix?

I finally installed AR+, and now I can't get out of AR mode short of denying camera permission -- I can see the toggle on the catch screen, but it doesn't work anymore, and the option to disable AR seems to have disappeared from the settings menu. I hoped updating Go would resolve this, but no luck, and now I learn I'll need the camera to try for Smeargle. Anyone know a one-time fix for this?
