Anyone try this for Blissey/Invisible Bug?

Just had a very frustrating time attacking a Hyper Beam Blissey. Every time I dodged the Hyper Beam, the invisible bug popped up, I had to switch, and it was just messy.

Toward the end, I gave up dodging the Hyper Beam, just letting my mon faint. It took about 3 of my mons to take out a Blissey without dodging.

Then, I thought of an "alternative" strategy, and wondered if anyone has tried it. Hyper Beam is slow. Really slow. So...

Main attacker: Attack and fire off 1-bar charge move which you will get in before Blissey fires off a Hyper Beam, because your energy gain is faster. In my case, this is usually solar beam.

Then, switch to a member of your suicide squad, some monster you don't want. Keep attacking, eat the hyper beam (which will be coming soon - your 1-bar attack should have given Blissey the energy to fire one), and faint.

Main attacker is back - fire off one-bar charge move - switch to suicide squad - eat hyper beam - faint - repeat...

So what you are suggesting is to use 3 mons out of a team of 6 to take out just 1 Blissey?

Or am I not understanding you correctly?

Instead of a suicide-mon, there could be a really tough mon (snorlax p.ex.), that hits for some damage and then dodges hyperbeam without invisibility bug.

Unfortunately, all of my high-CP Snorlax are busy defending gyms...

I do have a Chansey, Low-level snorlax, and a low-level blissey, I suppose those guys could dodge a hyper beam without the invisible bug hitting, but they would also timeout against Blissey.

So, hammer away with Exeggutor until solar beam, then put in chansey to dodge hb, then back to Exx and repeat. I kinda want to try it! Maybe you could speed a gengar through a blissey like that

Yes, that is the situation I'm basically in already - it takes 3 of my mons to KO a Blissey without dodging.

The advantage here is that I don't need to revive the two sacrifice mons - just send 'em to the Prof. In addition, switching back to my first attacker is automatic, happening when the sacrifice mon feints.

Nope, just get killed by 1 quick attack. Then the Blissey fires Hyper Beam and your main attacker will be about to out.

My weakest suicide squad members are typically about 800CP. I use them all the time for potion-and-revive-free prestiging of gyms. They are strong enough to take a few hits and dish our some damage, but can't take out a Blissey before timeout.

I have thought before about how they can make the game more skill based/strategic if you can do this with like a Wobbuffet who would send the Hyperbeam BACK at Blissey and hurt it bad...

The problem with real time battles is the lag is horrid and so so bad now. It would be hard to time a switch for it to work effectively, but worth testing to make a transfer mon eat the HB or your own Blissey and swap out.

I mentioned in another thread that I get the dodge bug ALL the time so am now forced to attack with a full health mons vs. hurt ones.

I thought I was going to read about some bug. But the only thing I'm reading is how to spend half your team on one mon in a gym.

I have two Blissey killers. Exeggutors both with Solar Beam. One has confusion the other zen headbutt. They work awesome. They also resist Psychic moves.

I've also experimented with flareon and he works fairly well too.

You should only need 1 mon too beat a blissey. I only dodge the charge move. Just make sure you dodge the Hyperbeam.

"Just make sure you dodge the Hyperbeam."
He dodges, but: he is lower level, mid/high 20 if I remember correct and appears that his mons do not have enough health to take a HB, so when he dodges he gets the bug that makes his mon unusable if it is not switched.

Since I got a new phone I get this bug a lot less than before. He might want to look into that if he is serious about gym battling.

Also a suggestion for people on older phones or people who experience this "bug" fairly often... Try closing the game and restarting it right before a gym battle. On my old phone I found if I restarted the game before a gym battle they would go a lot better with less lag/bugs.

As I battle/prestige gyms every day I decided to get a new phone. It helped immensely. Yeah I know not everyone can afford a new phone but that is the reality if you want to battle gyms.

No different than when a new computer game comes out and your computer can't handle it. You have to decide if you will invest in upgrading your computer so you can play the game.

If you want to gym battle you likely need a new phone.
