Anyone have a Tyranitar yet?
I've seen half a dozen in gyms and feel they must all be caught by spoofing

And you know they didn't spoof how exactly?
I've seen three in gyms. One belonged to a trainer on my own team who used alternate accounts and GPS spoofers to knock the lowest guy out of a gym that I was standing right next to. Another belonged to a trainer on my own team who has done the same before.
I'm not saying everyone who got one so quickly is a spoofer, but to dismiss the possibility is ludicrous.
yea same here. im not even close. i luckily hatched one and have only seen one in the wild. the hatch gave me 16 candies and the catch gave me 6 (with that special berry, plus 1 for transferring) so im sitting at a mere 23 candies. most of the gen 2 pokemon have been caught but theres a select few that im nowhere near evolving to its highest form or catching- tyranitar, ampharos, forretress, donphan and typhlosion. (though im much closer to him than the other four and have yet to even explore for nests.) i have yet to sniff a shuckle, heracross, sneasel, corsola, delibird, smeargle, tyrogue, hitmontop, miltank, and unown (though I understand some are regional exclusives.)
on that note, im also at a loss of words for how annoying it is to obtain these necessary items. ive gotten a total of four sun stones (which to me is the least appealing evolutions), two upgrades, and one steel coat (used to evolved into a steelix). i want the dragon scale so bad and the evolutions to slow king and scizor are on my agenda, but i cant obtain these items. how rare are they to obtain??
Spoofing is not necesary to have one, the guy from trainer tips had a tyranitar pop up in his appartment, he didn't catch it but his girlfriend did... also, there are probably people who walk a lot more than you do, and buy a lot of incubators so they could have gotten multiple larvitars from eggs. Sure there might be some that came from spoofing, but not all of them did.
Certainly don't overestimate this point of "more walking" and "incubbarators". Since the release of gen2, I have been playing at least 3 hours a day. Hatched tons of eggs and I should be living in an "optimal to spawn" larvitar area. So far, I hatched one and found one in the wild.
Just to clarify it certainly shouldn't be overestimated that a few extra miles would have made the difference.
It is possible at this moment to have one yes, but I have seen screens of some people on day 3-4 with one already at 3500+ CP, or with more than 400 candies, of course for me they are spoofers.
Take into consideration that even catching it in the wild you can only get him at level 30, for me it is almost impossible to find a Tyranitar at level 30 in the wild but I am gonna say the "luckiest" case. So from level 30 to let's say 37 (when he gets at 3500+ cp), you need 104 candies in order to power him up...I think you will know where I want to go here, in the luckiest of all possible escenarios you still need to get at least 104 candies on those first 3-4 days to get him to that cp, either catching or hatching an insane amount of eggs to get the 10k and getting the luck of hatching Larvitar from them.
So don't believe anyone more than yourself, even if they say they are not cheating, do your our numbers and think about the rarity of each mon on your area. I have only seen and catch one Larvitar since gen2 and been lucky enough to hatch another one, and I am at 42 candies at this moment, even walking with him since second day.
Congrats and wow ... that's some pretty incredible RNG. Most research indicates that eggs essentially completely random, not dependent on pokestop or biome, or really anything else for that matter. It's pretty remarkable that you got five 10k eggs from one individual pokestop, and that all of those became Larvitar. The odds of that are pretty wow.
I don't have even have a Larvitar yet. My 10k eggs have given me winners like 2 mantine and 2 gilgar. I did get one Mareep so yay for that I guess. Also have only seen 2 Larvitar show on my near pokestop and both were not close to where I was at the time. Did catch an Ursaring, good moveset but low IV. As for items, 2 sunstone, one upgrade, and one dragon scale.
I am in a place where zero Tyranitar or his pre-evolutions can be caught in the wild. I received a Larvitar from an egg on Saturday, walked off 12 candies by this morning and then boom, just a few minutes ago I drew 2 straight from 10K eggs. So now I am at 70 candies. If someone is in a place where they can be caught in the wild and have had some luck (and spent on some incubators) I could see it as remotely possible.
I got lucky and caught one at 3020CP by being in the right area at the right time along with a few other trainers. It was then powered up and now a good attacker. I also caught 4 lavitars since then and used pinap berries on all 4 catches, also hatched 2 of them.
Having over 400 candies is a bit insane though, I don't even come close to that.
