Anyone else think some gyms should have special conditions?

Have some gyms with special rules like:
Only bug type pokemon can be used to attack/defend/train this gyms
No fully evolved pokemon can be used to attack/defend/train this gyms
Only pokemon under 1000 cp can be used to attack/defend/train this gyms

It'd be cool to have gyms specialized in a certain type alongside the "generalist" ones, a bit like the original games! So that you can only put Fire types to a Fire gym, and so on. I think it would make a lot of mons more useful and add some variety to the current meta. And it'd be fun.

A place where you have to plug in your phone to battle the gym!

Ha ha, then you get some D bag who keeps plugged in all day and won't let anyone else use it.

At first I digged the "1 type" only gyms like the original gyms that gave out badges. But Ash never had to battle with only that type. So restricting a Gym to only having 1 in it, would just make the gym easier to tear down and harder to put up

Now maybe if existing Gyms got an "add to speciality Gym" which would be same rank as main gym but with same rule. And you couldn't knock out people in specality gym only main one. So it would entirely be for xp and maybe a reward for beating the sub-gym.

In fact thinking about it, the Sub Gyms being 1 type only with a CP range. Would be very interesting because people might try extra to take over say a Gym where they had pokemon that fit into the main gym sub gym.

I wouldn't mind additional special single type gyms.

I'd like main gyms to be one of a species only.

In general though I don't want the game to get over complicated.

If something like this is ever implemented, instead of straight restricting types, it should provide a bonus to pokemon and/or moves of a certain type similar to the stadium cards in the pokemon TCG.

i.e.:
Lava Gym - Fire pokemon have 125% attack. (This would cause CPs to recalculate so matching pokemon would place a higher also.)
Sea Breeze Gym - Electric pokemon have 80% attack. (Helps both water and flying.)
Floral Gym - Grass pokemon have 125% HP.
Thunder Gym - Electric type attacks have 80% duration.

Then every two weeks or so when nests rotate, the gym rules could also shift so players if different areas can experience different gyms.

I had a similar idea wherein certain types of pokemon would get bonuses in gyms but I like how you give specific bonuses instead of I just used cp boosting. The only problem is then you'd have gyms that are dominated by one type, which while similar to the main series, could be too easy to take down, I was thinking the bonuses change every time someone puts a mon in a gym. So I put in a grass with a boost and you can get a boost to a water type.
