Anyone else hatched an Alolan Geodude?

Today I was lucky enough to hatch an Alolan Geodude which was a welcome surprise from the typically underwhelming Mons which come from 7K eggs. I had not heard on this site or other web sources that Geodudes were yet in the 7K egg pool. Stranger still was that this was from a fairly old "gift" which came from Myanmar (Burma) almost a month ago at which time I am very sure Geodudes were not hatching. Makes me think that if I had hatched it straight away it would be just another Meowth / Shrew etc. Makes me question the idea that the species of an egg is "predetermined" when you get it. Does anyone know when Alolan Geodudes started hatching?

Yes, I did too. Geodude and diglet have been in 7km eggs for a while now (presumably after they stopped spawning in the wild). I think that it's been commented here, but not sure that a official post was written.

im pretty sure that was why they had alolan meowth and such be so common, because they took the odds of geodude and diglet hatching from those
