Anyone else getting Smack Down?

What are the chances we'll see Smack Down getting a more general release when Gen 4 drops like we saw with Waterfall during Gen 3's start?

I can't imagine Rhyperior without it, it might make Aggron somewhat useful, and a Smack Down Omastar would almost be as good as the painfully legacy Rock Throw variety.

Any speculation on this?

Rhyperior and Aggron I can see getting it, especially if Rhyperior gets Rock Wrecker to do to Tyrantiar what Tyrantiar did to Omastar. them doing that would be a great money making tactic for niantic, making new things better than the old ones so you need to raid more to get the best attackers
Aggron getting it could actually make it somewhat useful and a better tank counter.

Comp[ared to the higher DPS with Ryperior, tbe higher tankines of Aggron, omastar would probably be just a mix of the two that doesnt stand out, Aggron's got better resistances than omastar, and rhyperior's got better DPS, the only senario I could see omastar being better than aggron would be agaisnt maybe Kyurem, but that wouldn't be for a while.

Tyranitar has slightly better DPS and can still be used as a dark attacker. Smack Down Rhyperior wouldn't totally finish it off, though if they gave it rock slide aswell then it's game over for SD Tyranitar. Aggrons durability is no higher than Rhyperior, imo giving it smack down won't make it very useful.

Rhyperiors competition will come from Rampardos, the rock version of Alakazam, That huge DPS could make all the difference when people are trying to duo legendary raid bosses or whatever. Unless Niantic screw up and give it Zen Headbutt and Iron head for it's quick moves.

This was thinking about tyrantiar as strickly a rock type (and that DPS is for rhyperior with SD/Stone edge, we dont know how rock wrecker could be) Its dark set is a completely different use.

Plus Rhyperior is a lot easier to get candy for, Rhydon's a nesting species plus most players already have huge stocks of Rhyhorn candy and good IV rhydon from it being around since gen 1 as the original good ground attacker (which isnt saying much but still is soemthing)

I would hope that other rock types get some love via Smack Down. Rhypherior and Rampardos are the two newcomers that are the most likely candidates to receive it. Aggron would become a non-legendary equivalent to Regirock. Paired with Rock Slide, Omastar would come close to its legacy performance against Pokemon with a double rock weakness. With Rock Blast though you'd still be better off with either Golem.

Why are you comparing Waterfall to Smack Down? Waterfall wasn't in the game until gen 3, it was never an exclusive move and it was never limited to just 1 species.

I can see Rhyperior getting SD, then again, until we found out it was Ttar's CD move I thought Armaldo, Omastar, Kabutops and Aerodactyl might get it and become useful. I thought wrong.

But there's not really any speculation here worth mentioning that hasn't been beaten to death already. We know how good Rhyperior and Rampardos could be, all that's left is to wait and see what movesets they actually get on release.

No one knows for sure but I think it's more likely they will. For the simple reason that free to play games rely on newer things being better. Your much less likely to play the game, and therefore, put in more money if rhyperior/rampardos are irrelevant dex fillers that you only need to get a one of.

The only reason I can see them not getting SD is to save it as a CD move for them. But this is very unlikely because Rock Wrecker was Rhyperiors exclusive move in Gen 4 and Head Smash was kind of Rampardos' signature move that was also introduced in Gen 4. These are the much more likely CD candidates, if they are to get a CD.
