any use for ttar?
I know I'm in the minority on this, but I can't see any use for ttar with the current set of raid bosses, can someone try to persuade me that there is a use. here's where I'm coming from.
tier 3 solos:
currently no use for ttar in any of them other than maybe pinsir, but golem and the many fire types outclass them for this.(edit) it is also good for gengar solos, but I find gengar a very easy pokemon to solo, so no real need to power up ttars for it.
tier 4 duos:
no use for ttar in any of them
current legendary
ttar is ok but is outclassed in this matchup by now easily accessible dragonites from community day due to dps being the main if not only priority on raid counters.
gym sweeping:
just use machamp.
can someone please find a current use for ttar because atm moment i just can't find a reaon to have one.

I use Tyranitars as either the anchors of my team 1 in larger groups or as team 2 when going with less people. Rayquaza and Dragonite have a noticeably smaller TDO and I'd rather not dip too deeply into my current reserve of 100 Max Revives. Most of the time the DPS difference between Dragonite and TTar won't translate to another damage ball anyway, so why waste healing items. If one were swimming in healing I guess it wouldn't matter, but fighting gyms and doing solo challenges keeps my stock reasonably low.
I find plenty of uses for ttar:
-One of the best counters for Jinx and Gengar raids - does plenty of damage while also having considerably more survivability than other counters. Especially useful against weather boosted ones.
-Latias - Dragonite takes way too much damage. If that's never a problem for you, fine, but that's already a good niche use for ttar, which only goes to show it is not outclassed. Also, while dragonite does a bit more damage, you also get delayed by being autoswitched when your dragonites faint, so the benefit in using one is marginal. Not to mention it's much easier to dodge with ttar if you want to do so.
-Mewtwo - best counter, hands down.
-Gym sweeping - machamp works best usually, but not always. It depends on what kind of pokemon are in the gym. Ttar has a 3 bar charged move, which makes it easy to control your damage output while sweeping, as well as Bite as its quick move, which is easy to dodge with. For me, ttar is the second best generalist after machamp.
EDIT: With respect to generalists, I should note that I don't have a powered mewtwo yet.
Just because he gets outclassed by dragons this raid boss doesn't mean hes far behind. Hell with lugia he was the top used mon because not everyone has 6 powered up zapados, raikou, or legacy shadow claw gengars.
Plus there are a lot of pychic Pokemon yet to be released that will be tier 5 such as Deoxys, azelf, and cresselia. Ttar will be the goto mon for these raid but be slightly behind legacy gengar as hes a glass canon.
A small note on your tier 3 solo attempts using Ttar, pinsir is a terrible idea because all of pinsir's moves except vice grip are effective on Ttar, and with rock smash/close combat dealing 4X to ttar
Ttar can be very good on the double psychic versions of the current legendaries. By far the most tanky, but tbh Dragons will handle the double psychic versions better as well as they do not hurt as much as the dragon sets.
If anything, hear this: Any power up of a pseudo legendary (all 4 in the game right now) or meta-relevant legendary, provided IVs are good, is never going to waste.
