Any reason for Umbreon?

I’m walking an 840 CP Eevee I caught. I could make a small upgrade to my Espeon crew, or a major upgrade over my weak Umbreon. But the only times I’ve used Umbreon is to put in a gym that people started adding all Eevee forms to. Espeon or Umbreon then?

Unless they change battle system umbreon is useless.
Espeon is kind of usefull

Umbreon was awesome for prestiging when that was a thing, especially against Espeon. Now, it’s about as useful as my armies of Wigglytuffs, Electabuzzes, and Lanturns.

She doesn't get much love but given how good her best ms is, against the right opponent she has a high TDO. Very solid against M2 for those of us without full team(s) of optimal counters.

Here is a list of Lv 30 counter that are better than Umbreon:
TtaR - any movesets
MewTwo - SB or HB
Houndoom - any dark
Shiftry - FP or LB
Snorlax - any lick
Crawdaunt - NS
Dragonite - any
Absol - S/DP
Scizor - XS
Groudon - SB or Eq
Pinsir - Double bug
Raikou - TS/WC
Gyarados -Any crunch
Lugia- SA
Sharpedo -B/C
Entei - FT or O

So yeah, if you don’t have any of these optimal counters then yes an Umbreon only with FP can slots in nicely.

Even most neutral DPSers will be better!

A good gym defenser.

The current meta can be summarized as follows;

Att-Highest attack is the best
Def- Blissey. Blissey. Blissey.

So no, your Umbreon is no more useful than my 100% one

Not when gyms flip in 3-4 hours most of the time. Good defenders + GRBs can stall the attacker(s) and consume their potions. For bad defenders, you might not even have time to GRB!

That is not true. Moveset matter more than just high attack stat. If what u say is true, kingler with bubble water pulse should be one of the best water type. You know what I mean

You can put 3 Blisseys in 3 different gyms. =)
If there's already a Blissey in a gym, then dump in a Pidgey, Weedle or Rattata. The time your defender stays in a gym is pretty much random no matter what you put in.

The only reasons for berrying a gym are ex-raid and dumping excessive amounts of g-razz from your inventory.
