Any reason to keep more than one Spinda per variant?

Keep the one with the best IVs. Maybe best one of each form if you care. Trade the rest for other Spindas to try for your luckydex entry.

Trading. Gift a friend of you that spinda variant that they missed. Otherwise, it's not worth the space.

Do Spinda's count as "Special Trades"?

how do you even know what variant they are? My 4 all look the same.

There are only two patterns, so far. I think that they are releasing one pattern each month. If all your spinda were caught in the same month they will look the same. But the one we had during Raikou's research fiel and the one coming with Entei's look different.
