Any hope for Staraptor?

Got a hundo Starly trading with my wife and evolved into a Wing Attack/Heat Wave Staraptor. The other 2 Staraptors both learn Quick Attack/Close Combat. I understand none of the current charge moves stand out so it's right now just a mon with potential. But what could be a good future? What does Niantic need to do to make it meta-relevant?

If it was caught at a High level, double flying staraptor can be an acceptable machamp counter if short on flying types or for conserving stardust, but not much beyond that

This is the table for highest DPS vs breloom (which is teh best possible conditions for a flying mon). Staraptor ranks 11th against it, which is... not good for staraptor. If it were at some point to learn sky attack, it would become the BEST flying type attacker and second best currently released machamp counter (after mewtwo) in all but clear & cloudy weather.

So... maybe if staraptor somehow gets Sky Attack, yes there would be hope. But if (as is more likely than not) staraptor does not get Sky Attack added to its move pool... it's a dex entry and that hundo is little more than a trophy,

Here's to hoping.

If Niantic gave Staraptor Sky Attack instead of Brave Bird than it easily would've become one of the best and most accessible flying types in the game. However, it's suck with Brave Bird for the time being. That doesn't mean it's bad, but its just not as good as it could be been. It's still a great option against fighting types like Machamp.

Let's just hope that Niantic will change it's moveset in the future like they did with Gyarados. Keep it, love it, cherish it. Its easily the best starting bird in the entire series.
