Any good use for Golem with Rock Throw/Stone Edge ?

Its best use would be vs dragonites. But a dragonite with steel wing will hurt it. Its not really of great use in the current game even though it has the highest dps for a rock type. So no, not worth the stardust for me.

Doesn't really fill a niche. The pokemon that golem is good against, there's another pokemon that does the job better and is probably more versatile too.

In the game's current state I think it's not worth powering up, but who knows, maybe they'll do some rebalancing, or it might have a use against gen 2 pokemon.

Still, if you like using Golem, then it's your choice to power up. But if you only want to spend your pokemon on the best of the best pokemon, Golem isn't one of them.

He only comes in handy if you have a gym full of Dragonites. He does well against Dragonites with dragon breath, and resists hyper beam, but he is weak to steel wing. It sucks that he is weak to steel because Wigglytuff is weak to steel also, but Wigglytuff resists dragon, which makes her a better option over Golem.

Because of his rock typing he will also resist damage from a body slam or hyper beam Snorlax, but rock throw is a crappy quick attack to use against Snorlax.

I have Golem with MudSlap and StoneEdge and is one of my 7 selected beast for attack. So I keep him full powered up. The guys that have commented are right, there are another more versatiles options than Golem for the types he is supereffective, but the thing is that I visually enjoy the Stone Edge move. It's cool to look the Snorlaxes and Arcanines when receive the Stone Edge attack.

I use my Golem againts Snorlax (or any other normal pokemon) with Normal type moves, all fire pokemons, all electric pokemons and poison pure pokemons (Muk, Arbok)

However is a really bad counter against Dragonite and Lapras, I have tried and he sucks. Jolteon is a lot better against Dragonite and Lapras than Golem even the low stamina of electrics.

I agree with everyone thus far. It seems good in theory, but it's just "alright". I just tried against a full gym of dragonites (8).. pound/playrough wigglytuff and zenheadbutt/moonblast clefable did better in my opinion. Ice is obviously the best, but my ice pokemon are too low cp or stink.

It's a good counter for Charizard.

I have 1303 CP %94 golem (Mud slap/ Earthquake) and i want to power up. What do you suggest for me?
