Any fans of a 45 minute raid timer?
The reduced raid time is a disaster, IMHO. The main reason is our group likes to chain raids together, doing 2 or 3 in a row. Guess what, there is often not enough time for this now. One raid ends before you can get to it.

I don't like it and don't see the point, either. Why give players less time? Maybe they don't want us to solo t3 (but why would they care as long as we use and/or buy passes)? It makes no sense.
I kind of liked having 2 hours to raid (which was apparently a glitch), 'cause I often miss out on a raid because I have RL responsibilities before it even starts.
Niantic, get it right, please.
When I do raids, I go by bicycle, to gyms that are miles away, meaning I had to hurry even when we had an hour. Now, well, I haven't even done any raids since it was reduced to 45 minutes.
For anything but legendary raids, I'd pretty much have to leave 15-20 minutes before we even knew what they'd be, which I'm not going to do, especially since only a couple types get enough people interested to sometimes form a group.
Yeah, It makes team raiding too stressful the more narrow the time window gets. My region only as Suicune anyway which I understand is not that helpful. Everything seems to be pushing us to do more soloing. At this point soloing a 3 tier probably is more an advantage than getting a second Suicune even if my first one isn't really great IV or move set. Agree?
In a city it takes a little while for the raid maps to register which boss it is, shorter timer and tier 3 or 4 hatch reveals lets the raiding be a little more organic. I could drive and chat on a Sunday and get 5+ Machamps and 5+ Tyranitars...IF I had timely Boss information. Too much of a Nidoking risk to actually wait somewhere for something
I hate it. I really hope it's some kind of "test". If revenue goes down and people raid less, I'd hope they change it the other way.
One benefit is that the shorter raid window allows for the potential of more raids per day. However, I would guess it only works out to be one extra raid for every 8 gyms (15 minutes x 8 = 2 hours). They should reduce the egg timer to 45 minutes and keep the raid time at 1 hour.
What's weird is there have been very few raids since the end of the event and the raid boss changes (except for legendary, which can't be done in a small town). You'd think there'd be raids everywhere to introduce the new bosses... but quite the opposite.
Niantic, what's up? I have lots of passes (I bought the ultra box for incense/incubators and passes were included) but can't use them!
Agree. Say you want to raid Tyranitar (like a LOT of players do). You see a level 4 raid, and (as of now) there's a 1 in 8 chance it's Tyranitar. So you think about getting ready to get to it, and wait about an hour until it hatches, and then mostly find out it's something else, or one time in 8, scramble to get there with the requisite group in 45 minutes.
I mean, does Niantic think we're like SWAT teams or a fire station, sitting around waiting for the alarm to go off? Most of us have lives, jobs or school, and other responsibilities. We can allocate a few hours a week for raiding, and have to hope to get what we need the most.
Now, if they announced a level X raid, an hour in advance, and then half an hour before let us know exactly what it was, maybe a 45 minute window would work. The problem is not knowing until it hatches.
And of course, right now, this isn't an issue for legendaries. You see a level 5, you know what to expect based on where you live. So that works fine - we can see the raid an hour in advance, and get a group organized, or not, and if not, no-one wastes time or effort to get there.
But if they release all the beasts, or cycle the birds through again for X-mas, then we'll have to get mobilized, get somewhere, and then be disappointed that it's another Suicune, and not a Ho-Oh or Raikou (or whatever options are out there).
Sure, the mystery of what you'll get is fun, but driving for half an hour to get Nidoqueen instead of Tyranitar is a major disappointment. Niantic needs to consider this as they restructure raids.
