Anniversary event

So this says Anniversary boxes in the store, and pikachu with ash's hat. Anyone see any other proof of this?

Well this is a site that commonly updates on pokemon go news. The only thing that throws me off is every other site. So many contradicting events and made up leaks, this still may not even be true. Just threw this speculation in there but i will not believe anything until Niantic confirms what they are doing.
From other posts, it sounds like the serebii site is a pretty legit overall site...
My guess is there will be other stuff going on running till a finale at Go Fest with the "BEST" stuff...
I plan to play accordingly...
Of the box, only raid passes are worth it IMO and even then, with nerfed TM drop rates, I rarely need to do more than 1 a day...almost wasted one yesterday, but did a Karp raid and got 1 golden razeberry and that's it...
Good to probably get enough incubators to total up to 8 for 9 mass hatches at once...but candies are not as important with the intro of rare candies...Maybe they will do 4x dust since double dust isn't really THAT much considering 5k from gyms earlier...Powering up now just burns up so much compared to candies...(sitting on 300+ Larvitar candies now).
Would really like a double candy transfer thing so I can clear my mon storage of all these Larvitars, Mareeps, Chanceys, etc...
So no 2xdust, 2xcandy, 2xexp or buddy distance? I was hoping for a lot more...It is one year anniversary Niantic, dont' be so lame!!
No way I'm gonna spend money on incubators if there is no extra dust or candies from hatches, also revives and ultraballs are not worth to buy for me, sitting on more than 300 ultra balls now, why do I want more? Raid bosses can be catched without them, there are almost no rare spawns here and I am getting more revives than I can hold from raids and gym spins, I destroy like 30 of them each day.
I honestly think there will be more stuff coming, especially on the Jun 22nd weekend since they clearly stated in the releases that trainers around the world will get to participate in stuff too that weekend...
I'd still play optimally based on the Jun 22nd event assuming that's the last big thing for a bit and see what is offered....(sitting on 800+ evolutions currently).
I am sad, very sad, upset and sad. This is not an anniversary event, this is a JOKE to try to grab more money from those packs.
Still remember them calling christmas gift boxes to a payed item hahah. This event is worth absolutely nothing, I will get an ash pikachu hat on the minute 1 and call it done.
And they even make it last from the 6th to the 24th in order to make people spent tons of money on raid passes packs, I wonder how many players will spend hundreds of $ like crazy...
