Ampharos as a prestiger?

I was lucky enough to catch a 84% ampharos today with charge beam/Zap cannon....but he's 274 CP.

I feel like my Jolteons are my most important prestigers because of how common Gyarados is in gyms.

Anyone have any idea how Ampharos compares? I could power him up to around 1000cp with the 22 candies I have.

On a side note, the one advantage of this low CP is that I used Pinap and for 20 candies!

Glad to hear you caught him w/ Pinap! I'm still recovering from having used Pinap on a Lvl 1 Blastoise today and having it immediately run away.
Probably just bad luck, but the feels, the feeeels!
Grats on the Ampharos! I hope I'm able to catch one so I don't have to buddy with my Mareep for a millienium.

As a prestiger it's better than Jolteon and worse than Lanturn.
If you can easily get some Chinchous in your area, I would suggest to go for Lanturn instead of using candies and dust on this Ampharos.

THanks - I forgot about lanturn. Actually they are common in my area. Ive evolved 2 but with mixed moves (elec/water and water/elec). I also caught a wild lanturn with low IVs but with double electric, and the one time I used him he was very good.

I really wish the Ampharos was the best one though...would be more fun...

If you like the mon, go ahead and power it.
Personal enjoyment is also important. :)
I use my RT/RS Sudowoodo quite a lot to prestige just because I love this weird mon.
