Am I the only one annoyed by legends stats?

So first we have Mewtwo. Best CP in the game, no surprise.

Then is Ho-oh.... Higher base stat total, but lower cp because of how CP works, so understandable.

Next is Lugia. Its supposed to be on a par with Mewtwo and Ho-oh, so... Wait... Luigia, one of the greater legends, has CP similar to the Kanto birds? ....why?

And speaking of, why are the birds so lopsided? Zappos is my favorite, and I am glad that he has the highest CP, and I can understand Articuno's lower cp due to higher defense, but why do all of Zapdos' stats either meet or exceed Moltres? Moltres has worse typing to begin with, and is pretty much entirely outclassed by Ho-oh, so what the heck? Shouldn't it be like Dragonite/Tyranitar where the later has higher CP to make up for some of its shortcomings a bit?!

Well, at least we have the legendary beasts. They seem a bit stronger than the birds and I really don't care for them, but it's a small issue as they seem balla-Wait, WHERE THE HECK IS SUICU-....why?

...does anyone else feel like niantic screwed up the balance for legends, or is it just me?

They use a formula based on their stats from the main games. That is how their cp works out based on the formula. They don't change the cp of certain Pokemon because they are "cooler."

Not saying that they do, just saying that their formula is screwed up, assuming they do indeed use a formula directly.

Luigia, Mewtwo, and Ho-oh have the same bst. The later two turned out as expected, yet Luigia is over 1000 lower in CP? Something is broken somewhere.

Actually, I entirely doubt that they used a direct formula, as Vaporeon is several hundred CP higher than suicune

The formula is on this site somewhere. I'm sure someone will post it. We know the cp for Pokemon of all generations. Aegislash is a great example of how the formula favors certain stats over others.

If that is confirmed, then I must say that the formula is lopsided and not very realistic to the game. CP in general needs some work, as either it reveals major issues or puts up an unrealistic smoke screen around the real factor: BST. Also, Aegislash.... 'Mons like that are proof that we will see some form of ability system some day. Can't wait for weather wars.

Does it need work? Now that gym placement isn't based on cp, it doesn't matter. Cp means nothing. It doesn't actually affect how good or bad a Pokemon is. It basically tells you how much offensive fire power it has.

Found the formula that you mentioned, and understand it a bit better now, though I really am still annoyed by the false representation given and the odd stat totals. Honestly wish they would just kill CP and list BST instead.

Either way, thank you for giving me some point of reference for the numbers.

The formula treats attack^2 similar to Def*HP which actually makes sense because damage taken is a function of def and HP while damage given is just attack.

Right, found the article. Still annoyed at some bst though, like Moltres literally being the same as or weaker than Zapdos. And this from a guy who has Zapdos as his all time favorite Mon.

I agree. I wish they put more thought into the base stats rather than just copying the old game.

I'm more annoyed with the movesets-none of the birds or dogs bar suicine get access to non-STAB moves. And even suicunes don't provide counters to its weaknesses, except maybe extrasensory which hits the grass/poison types.

Mewtwo has access to some great moves, Lugia too (in my opinion). Ho-oh gets solar beam which will be a pain in raids but what is up with its quick moves? I'd even take peck lol!

Yes, the lack of representation from the main series to Go is annoying, but coupled with these movesets is what gets me. Although I like how mew has access to 8 charge moves. I will give them credit for that fur sure ?

Snarl for Suicune will hit Exeggutor too.
Which means all the big grasses are out, electric types will be important.

I am very disappointed. I want to leave my legendaries in gyms, and get to fight other people's legendaries.

Actually, I like how the legendaries' moves are mostly sub-par.
If they were given great movesets, Eeveelutions would be irrelevant.
