I love how Giratina's a raid boss, being a dragon, and theres the "catch a dragon" for dratini research. Giratina might not be the best pokemon, but at the very least, its useful for getting one of the most meta relevant pokemon and a much better pass burn for research completion than Alolan Eggtree.
I saved an evolve 10 water types research (got 5 minutes before change over) just for this purpose, just going to stack all these dratini encoutners to keep doing the same thing.

I know its a common thing, but its still fantastic. Dratini's pretty rare outside of large water areas with high stop density and with the 10k egg pool being expanded from gen 4, odds of hatching good ones drops. Being able to reliably get 6 candy percatch (9 with the additional distance trade) with 10/10/10 iv floor and shiny possible, its so great.
