All I want for Christmas is a Sinnoh Stone
I battle Blanche once per day. After my maxed 98% Machamp beats her Lapras, my L30 93% Tyranitar smacks down her Gilscor and then destroys her Articuno. All my rewards so far have been 500 stardust.
Last three research breakthroughs gave 20 Pokeballs twice and 3 Rare Candy once.
Really bad luck or am I doing something wrong? Should I try losing instead? The pressure to create a second account is mounting.

It sounds like you're running into some bad luck, but I would highly recommend connecting with some local players and getting your 3 battles in a day to improve your odds. I've had days (sometimes many in a row) where I've not received any stones from PvP rewards, but having 4 shots at a stone per day certainly beats 1 shot per day.
You could also go the route of making an alt account. In my personal opinion though, that just sounds like a chore that would get fairly tedious and boring. I've found PvP to be a lot of fun, so if you have the ability to connect with some other local players, you will likely have a more enjoyable experience while also increasing your chances of getting stones. Best of both worlds!
Pretty unlucky. Have 15 SS, 2 coming from breakthroughs. And there were days i didnt pvp. From what im hearing people say 20% chance to get one from a fight
But obviously your doing something wrong. If you want the stones you should fight other trainers. Shouldnt be a problem since you live in a big city.
Also I feel like I got my first stone from a leader today. Could be wrong about that or it could be a coincidence but maybe chances are lower than in pvp.
About the losing theorie: also heared that. But i think that is more a brain thing. If u lose and get a stone brain says „not deserved“ „lucky“ and will remember it a lot better as if u won and deserved it.
I dont lose often and top the 20% people assume to be the average.
