After so many set backs Lapras looks to have finally been given her rightful status as Queen of the new top six.

I tend to agree. I was chatting with a player today, he was a level 34, non-cash player. He was battling the gym with my Lapras in it (25xx cp fb/hp.) He said it was giving him problems. I suggested he try Machamp, and he said he didn't have ones, Machops are really rare around here unless you find a nest. He said that was the first gym to give him issues.
If anything can be learned here, not every player has the best counters available. I don't think we realize that most of the people on this site are in the upper tier for players. Something like a Lapras can give a lot of players trouble, especially a ice/water combo one.
