Alakazam simply for its sheer power in combination with the access to Psycho Cut, but both are close in terms of personal preference.

Espeon, I feel like with the extra HP I can sometimes get off an extra charge move here or there. Just wish it had a better option for the 2 bar move.

the are two close to call, the trade in attack vs stamina is virtually a wash. But I like espeon just because.

Also, I've been wondering if I should try getting a Psybeam Espeon, for the simple reason of being 2 bar. I can usually only get 1 Futuresight off with each Espeon, but 3 Shadow Balls with PC/SB Alakazam. Psybeam may be a bit better than Futuresight, if I can get 3 Psybeams, but only 1 Futuresight.
But no, I won't TM any Futuresight Espeons.

I'm very satisfied with my 2700 CP Confusion/Psybeam Espeon. It's basically the only Pokemon I use for gym attacking as generalist next to Dragonite in some situations.

I don't have the acces to a decent Alakazam so I don't know how they would compare.

I have 2 Espeons at level 30, one with ZH/FS, the other with C/FS. The ZH/FS one has much higher IV (86%), and 15 attack.
I just evolved the C/FS one today, tried him out in a gym just now against a Blissey.
Which one is better?

I find psybeam supremely disappointing on offense. Even being only one bar, I can typically get off 2 future sights against Machamp and Gengar with very little wasted energy.

If I could get PC for Espeon I feel like he would edge it out for me. But with PC I often get off that extra charge move (especially in solo situations with tougher movesets) that confusion makes me eat. And Zam has better attack. So Zam works better for me and my playstyle. I really like my Espeons though and my favorite part is they cost me next to nothing.

Alakazam

Espeon.
Dodging with Confusion is not impossible but requires some serious skills, including timing of charge attacks from the opponent. Dodging with Psycho cut is too easy. Besides, with no dodging, Confusion + FS Espeon will out-dmg Psycho Cut + FS Alakazam.

It's worth noting that PC builds up the charge much faster and in such a way that I am not sure that C out damages the PC moveset at all in cycle damage of many situations.
