Alakazam solo fail!
In preparation of Mewtwo I have been growing a Tyranitar army, and this was their test. Surprisingly, they failed. I tried 4 times, the last time using all 6 Tyranitars. The last time was extremely close, and the battle ended in the middle of the last Tyranitar. No dodging was done. Low signal could have been a problem and could have lost me a few crucial seconds.
I chose an Alakazam with Psycho Cut / Shadow Ball, which I figured would be one of the easiest movesets. I also have a B/C Gyarados, double bug Scizor and Pinsir. I included some of these in the first 3 battles, and did a little dodging, but the results were worse. I also have a H/SB Gengar, but he's only level 30 so I didn't try him. Maybe I should have.
Here is the Ttar Army:
3609 Lev 39 Tyranitar 98% B/C
3228 Lev 32 Tyranitar 93% B/C
3109 Lev 30 Tyranitar 89% B/C
3103 Lev 30 Tyranitar 91% B/C
3087 Lev 30 Tyranitar 89% B/C
3250 Lev 33 Tyranitar 89% B/SE
I get the feeling if I just powered up a few more, I could have done it.

i've had this issue before, seen people on youtube do it with worse teams then me and it's not like I can make the tyranitar bite any faster.
I've just powered up 2 sc/shadowball gengars and seeing if that makes a difference (targeting psychocut/futuresight)
looking at pokebattler the shadowball ones are actually the hardest and houndoom falls behind ttar in both power and time to win.
Everyone is focused on dark moves, in particular using Crunch. I have two Tyranitars with B/SE and I don't plan on changing them to Crunch. I do wonder if Crunch just takes too long to use. I've never done a solo Alakazam so I can't say for sure but I use my B/SE Tyranitars on everything I can and I wonder if you can output more DPS using it. Plus you get back into using Bite quicker with SE.
So I've only succeeded vs PC/FS Zam, failed pretty badly vs PC/FB, and couldn't seem get that last crucial hit vs C/FS. I'm looking to try PC/SB soon, but haven't yet.
I don't think powering up the Ttars would change much since they've already hit their fast move breakpoint. However, I think Gengar has a mid/low-30's point break that you might be able to take advantage of. With gengar VS SB, you'll have to dodge the first set of shadow balls, but I've found that if I can get 3 gengar SBs off then his work is done and the ttars can handle the rest.
At the time my scizors were a level to half level below the breakpoint but they didn't cut it at lev 31ish. I'll have to try them again at their new level. Hoping that the FC breakpoint makes them more effective because they were "tanky" compared to gengar.
