Ttars would get wrecked by Focus Blast. The best Pokemon to use against Alakazam depends on it's moveset.
Even if you do manage to dodge perfectly the timing is still tight with Tyranitars.
Banette has slightly more room for error as it doesn't get one shot by Focus Blast, so if you do take a full damage Focus Blast, it could give enough energy (or time) for another Shadow Ball before fainting at least.
Agree with "the best attacker to use depends on its moveset" part, but disagree with "the timing is still tight with Ttars" part.
First of all, PC/FB Alakazam is arguably the easiest Zam moveset to solo - meaning if you want to do "time attack" and try to solo it as fast as possible, it HAS to be PC/FB. This is not Ttar's speicalty as B/C doesn't have that high DPS.
On the other hand, even with C/FB Alakazam, it still can be solo'd with Ttar-only army with plenty of time left. Ttar gets one shot by FB, but FB is relatively easy to dodge (animation is long). Actually for C/FB, the top 2 counters (excluding Mewtwo because it's not available to everyone) - Gengar and Ttar each has their weakness: 4x Confusion will wreck a Gengar so some dodge is necessary, while for Ttar you only need to dodge once (it's wise to let the 2nd FB kill Ttar with not much HP left).
Break point depends on attacker's IV and specific move, and has nothing to do with the defender's moveset. Also when people talk about break points they mostly refer to the fast move break point.
So for Alakazam Raid boss with whatever moveset, Mewtwo's Confusion hits the maximum break point at level 31 if Mewtwo's attack IV is 14 or 15, and Mewtwo's Psycho Cut hits the max break point at level 26 if Mewtwo's attack IV is 14 or 15.
Either way, Shadow Ball is what makes Mewtwo great against Alakazam.
