Alakazam Raid

My team:

Tyranitar 3117 B/C
Tyranitar 3031 B/C
Mewtwo 3446 PC/SB
Mewtwo 2986 PC/SB
Scizor 2413 FC/XS
Dragonite 3030 DT/O

No candies for anyone to power up.
All IVs between 80 - 90%

Couldn´t kill alakazam with C/FS. Am i missing something?

Also, i can power up some alternatives:

2 x Gengar 2200 CP H/SB (lots of candies because of Halloween) 80 & 90% IVs
Alakazam 1636 PC/SB 93.3% IV

Did you actually get to your Dragonite? With Tyranitar's immunity and Mewtwo's resistance to psychic moves I would have guessed that you wouldn't.

If the issue is timing out then swap in some Gengars because you lack damage, and they offer more than Scizor and Dragonite.

If the issue is fainting before the timer runs out, dodge specials on your Pokemon that have higher DPS - the Mewtwo in this case.

From a total of 7, the 4th attempt i used my Dragonite, because i tried not dodging specials.

Couple things:
1) Looks like your mons aren't high enough level yet. PC/FS and PC/FB might be in the cards though
2) Dragonite (even maxed out) has too low of a DPS to be much help vs Zam
3) From an attack/damage stand point your scizor isn't going to improve much if you've already hit the FC breakpoint.
4) Gengar can help in the DPS race but because of it's niche role I personally won't invest stardust/candy powering up a gengar with iv less than 93%. But since yours are ~Lv 30+ they might help you.
5) keep trying and hope to get lucky.

Quick question: do your two Ttars get you to a yellow bar before 90s? If not keep powering them up. If they do you know it's the second half of your lineup that needs work.

There isn't much benefit in powering Tyranitar if its already level 30, the only thing you're getting is more damage on Crunch and more HP, but given the power up costs past 30 it's hardly worth it for +1 HP and +1 damage on Crunch.

Bite maxes out before 30 and Confusion reaches it's lowest damage before 30 even if you're unfortunate to have a 10 attack and defence IV Tyranitar.

The benefits of higher level Ttars also arrive by taking less damage per hit allowing for those few extra HP to mean more. From a DPS perspective only Gengar, Mewtwo, and Ttar have a time to win below 180s. Keeping those options in the fight longer even a few seconds longer improves your teams overall DPS. Because once you are down to options like HDoom or Scizor you are netting negative time even if it's only slightly negative.

Also given the double candy event I figured Ttar would be easier to power up than Mewtwo.

I have atk 12 and atk 14 Mewtwos, what level should power them up to?

Against what raid boss? There's no general optimum (excluding level 40).

I already stated Confusion reaches it's lowest damage point before level 30, which is 8 damage.

Powering a Tyranitar so that it gains 8 HP from level 30 requires taking it to level 36.5 which is 86k dust and 94 candies, hardly worth it.

Taking a Ttar from 30-->35 is 62k dust and 64 candies. Which is less than powering up a third Ttar. You are right that it's not going to be a night/day difference but it can save a few seconds which just might be the difference between success and failure. For me that was exactly the difference between success and failure vs C/FS.

You just have to decide if improving your chances slightly is worth missing out on some other random lv 30 mon. Obviously powering up Mewtwo is a better stardust investment but the candies are much harder to come by than Ttar candies (especially til tomorrow).

I cant remember exactly at what point i reach the yellow HP bar, i think i did it with my 2 ttars.
The 3rd attempt i changed my line-up, i move my ttars to 3rd and 4th place and put my m2´s first and i swear to GOD i killed the alakazam in the last 1 second and i ran out of time.
