After thoughts about my post of soloing alakazam with confusion/focus blast.

I have seen a post about my post and never thought my original post would create any controversy. So here is a few things that I would like to say about my own post:
1. Ever since I got my Mewtwo on Thursday, I was in Mewtwo hangover. September 23rd is my birthday and at that day, I have maxed out my Mewtwo after getting enough rare candies from raids. I thought I was lucky enough already but later that afternoon, I have succeeded confusion/focus blast alakazam raids, which I know would be really difficult to do and would never imagine that I can succeed in my first try. I was in such an amazing mood that I posted the braggy post without thinking too much.
2. I have to apologize for my insensitive post. I believe people are most upset because they don’t even get chance to participate an EX raid, let alone caught a perfect one. I was in your guys’s shoes when I was not invited to the first EX raid in my town even when I am one of the most active players in our small college town.
3. Although I have soloed arguably the most difficult alakazam moveset, My post has nothing to do with stating that I am so good at battle(As you guys can see in the video, I am in no way that good.) I am just happy with the performance of each my team member and think maxing out Mewtwo is a good investment.
4. As a matter of fact, I would much prefer to see my post as casual players’ guide to solo alakazam with the most difficult moveset. Unlike hardcore players, I am not going to power up more than two high IV Pokémons in a short period of time. I believe you have to pay quite some money to do raids so you can have three or four high IV tyranitars. My team is more accessible except Mewtwo, which will be available to everyone soon. My gengar and alakazam are not even maxed out yet. So after Mewtwo becomes more accessible, lots of players can set this as their challenges without maxing out so many tyranitars or wasting much money on this game(I have spent like 60 dollars in total)
5. Finally, I feel people are focusing on the wrong reason for soloing level 3 raids. The end game is not to power up as many tyranitars as you can until you are able to solo alakazam. It is to use the Pokémons you have to practise your battle skills, like dodging, lineup setup etc. It is much more exciting for me to use gengars against alakazam with confusion instead of using only max out tyranitars.

Just continue to play the game your style. I'm also mostly interested in solo T3 and couldn't care less of what type of Pokémon you use in battle.

Ray, first of all, why do you apologize for playing the game the way you want, and to whom? Isn't that just the beauty of this souped up fitness tracker that is Pogo? That it is whatever you want it to be?

As long as one does not cheat, I for one think that everyone should be entitled to play it any which way they like and to set themselves their own goals.

This probably explains why I tend to react allergic to people on this forum who act as if their opinions about the game were fundamental truths just because they have reached level xx or played since xx, and who try to block discussions about everything that does not fit into their personal view of the pogo world.

This is also why I do not agree with no. 5 of your post. The reasons why people focus on level 3 solos should be their business. I for one set myself the challenge to beat the big 5 and quickly saw that I was at a big disadvantage because I had optimized my game for the old arena system and consequently had only one level 20 tyranitar (for the pokedex - did not care for them as they were bad defenders and I therefore had walked other pokemon for candy) and no psycho attackers to speak of when starting to go for the "grand slam".

So I checked my inventory for what I had, calculated what I would need (I found the pokebattler simulations to be of very limited use or my real world play, but again, that is just me) and worked on getting fit for the job (without using trackers, I might add).

And when I had finally beaten the big 5, it suddenly started bugging me that I had not managed to beat Machamp without the help of a legendary mon. So there was a new challenge. That is why I asked you if using Mew2 did not feel a bit like cheating - because you are in the same position and I would like to know if you have experienced the same feeling.

And then I thought it would be nice to enhance my existing teams in order to beat the big 5 more comfortably or to be able to beat more difficult movesets. Although I realize that by extending my tool box in this way, level 3 solos might end up getting too easy and consequently boring. But what can you do, I need to draw my motivation from something. Plus, I am counting on Niantic rotating bosses and consequently present me with new challenges in the future.

But all this is just me. It might not be for everyone, and that is just fine as far as I am concerned.

By the way, I have invested even less money than you in the game. Another one of these individual challenges: although I am not dogmatic about free play, I still try to sustain my play by what I earn in game as much as possible.

Do not let anybody tell you how to play the game.

Happy Bday by the way, having for a Mewto for a present is pretty awesome. You can challenge yourself to do more t3 raids with other pokemon and at other levels. Mewto is not cheating because you dont spoof and you got a EX raid pass with a successful Mewto catch.

Yes I do not have one and have never gotten a pass. Life goes on. Stardust is so limited without the event, so if you can power one and successfully beat Alakazam, then power to you.

Do what satisfies you and makes you happy.
