98% Exeggutor with sub optimal moves

I found a 98% exeggcute which i evolved into an exeggutor. However, the moves are ZH/seed bomb.

I have enough candies and dust to take it to lvl 31.5. Its already level 25 with 2104 CP.

The problem is the moves suck. ZH/SB is crap for offense and on defense i feel like its not great either cause no 1 will use a water pokemon to attack it so SB is useless.

What do you guys think about this move set? Should i power him to max? Again I got tons of dust and enough candy to take it to level 31.5

You'd want a confusion Exeggutor for defense over Zen Headbutt.

However, the IV of your Exeggutor is quite excellent, so it will be in good standing for a gym position.

If your only (and only) intention is sticking it into a gym, I would power it up if you already have a good water counter for attacking (i.e. Another Exeggutor with Solar, or Venusaur/Victreebel/Vileplume with Grass move+Solar)

AND if you do not have a better Max CP option to power up for now to stick into a gym (Snorlax, Dragonite, and Arcanine/Lapras if they have equal IV)

Well...its not that bad for defense, but i wouldn't spend dust and candies on him. Any Exeggutor with optimal moveset (ZH or Confusion/Solar Beam or Psychic) with low IV can do better...Moveset>IV. If you really want to spend on him, power it untill 2400~2500 and stop, so you can put him in a middle of some gym then start looking for other Exegg for attack...IMO.

I agree with Lecafe88! since you have a very good IV it will give you near to its Max Highest CP possible which will place you to a higher spot in a gym.
On the other side if your purpose is for attacking then no need to power up (w/c I don't prefer unless its Solar Beam).
If you are to ask me, I would definitely power it up to secure a spot in the gym, anyways Zenheadbutt/confusion + seed bomb will do great enough on defense.

Most any good IV Exeggutor is worth powering up as a defender regardless of moveset imo, especially since you have the bonus of that fella already being level 25. I've got a 91 IV Exeggutor with Confusion/Seed Bomb I plan on powering up at some point, but I'm constantly low on dust and have other projects going so it's on the back burner. If you've got the dust and candies and nothing better to spend your dust on. Heck yeah!
