This is the best move for offense since its effective against Dragonite, Lapras, 2x vs Charizard but Golem is weak to ice and dragon moves so he is not very usefull. I have the exact same golem as you 96% with this moveset. He is now 2484 CP lvl 30 but i still dont like it. Slow to attack and not very good
96% Golem Rock Throw / Stone Edge
Is the above titlted Golem worth powering up? I got plenty of dust and candy. It is level 20.
He is terrible on defense due to his type weakness to Grass/Water and Ice. So if offense is the only thing which could make Golem now redeemable with the CP change, how good is he on offense?
Also would it be redundant if I level this golem and a Rhydon with Mudslap/Stone Edge? If it is, which one would you level?

Golem is currently the best attacker that can have a pure rock moveset. However, two rock moves right now is pretty niche, because his best matchup is Charizard. As far as powering it up, I would wait to see how the legendary birds are distributed. If Moltres becomes common, Golem will be a very CP efficient way to deal with the fire bird.
Golem and Rhydon now both have a role as a Snorlax, Dragonite (with Rock attacks), and fire counter which is a "niche" but I very big niche in the current meta game. They will be very poor as defenders thought due to their double weakness to water and grass.
I would power up that Golem.
One interesting result is that my Snorlax with Earthquake looks like a better defender now since it is super effective against Rock and Fire.
I would definitely NOT power it up.
Golem with Rock moves will only be useful if Moltres becomes common.
Otherwise, he is useless. He is supposed to be strong against Lapras and Dragonites, but at the same time, he is weak to Steel Wing and to Ice Moves. Its a shame, cus he is really cool.
I have a 91% Golem with the same moveset and I wanted to power it up, but it doesn't worth it.
