If you save claiming it until tomorrow, then you'll get Raikou, but you must wait until after the transition time of 1pm PST, whatever that translates to in your time zone.
Also bear in mind that having the breakthrough box pending will not allow you to claim any of the regular tasks until it's been dealt with.
