4th Generation
Hi,
is there any idea when the 4th generation will be introduced? personally I'm already preparing some mons that will have an evolution in the 4th gen, but I was wondering when it will be introduced...
I just hope there will be less regionals... Considering that europe is quite unluck with these mons...

I hope... Gen 3 annoyed me quite much... You have 2 mons that need 348987 candies to be evolved and are... Almost unuseful... Many others that have so strange combinations that are almost unuseful (Aggron)... And if you live in a region where playing is not so easy (little number of gyms/pokestops) hatching a 10 km eggs to evolve Bagon or Beldum takes you months... I haven't enough candies now to evolve those 2, nore the stupid Cradily... And never saw one wild... Gym fights are so rare you can have mons in a gym for one month...
4th gen at least starts giving the possibility to have some evolutions that could be really interesting and done immediately if you're ready... Personally as I mainly consider attack IVs more than the rest (for solo raids) I already have 15s for all species that will have an evolution in the next gen... So I hope it will come soon, and they will have nice evolutions/movesets...
Salamence, Gardevoir, Milotic and Metagross are awesome additions to the game. They're not packing the moves we all would probably like to have on them, but they are really good complements to other gen teams. It's probably more on purpose than we think to avoid a ground-breaking generation... however, the ones that did mean a significant change in the game are actually Groudon and Kyogre. They're ridiculously powerful, and way too available for well-organized raiders.
IMO, the Regis are a bit dull. Massive defense makes for a very hard raid, but doesn't give you a useful pokemon. Contrast with Rayquaza, which was a challenging raid, but not that bad, and gives you an offensive monster.
I would be pleased if they released all the Regis together, and we didn't know which was which until hatch. Get a few of each, and then move on.
Suppose they brought Suicune back for two whole months. How would that go over with the fan base? (Yes, Suicune is worse than the Regis. But none of them is a worldbeater.)
Gen I contains 151 Pokémon, 7 months
Gen II contains 100, 10 months
Gen III contains 133.
17 months for 251 Pokémon gives exactly 9 months for 133, going by the average, 6 months going by the Gen I rate, and 13 months going by the Gen II rate (but they introduced new game features in this episode).
They were slowly introduced in December and January mainly, so it seems most likely that Gen IV could be due in August or September. Unless they introduce completely new gameplay like PvP or abilities, then it may be delayed to early 2019.
I really hope they don't delay them to 2019... The 10 months of Gen 2 made thousands of people quit the game, they shouldn't follow that trend...
8 months after last Gen release sounds more reasonable (July-August). July will probably host some 2nd year celebration, so they get a good excuse to hold on the release of new pokemon. Although, it'd be a nice celebration adding some Gen 4!
I don't want them to roll out Gen 4 unless they have some big gameplay mechanics and improvements to roll out with it like they did with Gen 2 (raids) and continue to do with Gen 3 (weather/research).
I don't give two bob about trading but I'm hoping they do something with PVP or wild NPC battles to herald Gen 4. How cool would it be if they kept the tap-tap-tap combat for gyms and raids, but used turn-based for PVP and NPC battles?
Probably some time in June; I wouldn't be surprised if we get Gen 4 at the end of the Latios/Latias time, and we get a Gen 4 legendary as the next one, skipping the last 3 Legendary's from Gen 3.
If they don't skip those three, then I would expect Gen 4 to be released in September, having a month for each of the Regi Legendary's (June, July, August) and having Gen 4 released after Labour Day in North America (Sept 3 is Labour Day this year).
As for Regionals... I kinda agree. I'm NEVER going to be going overseas. Combination of not enough money and inner ear issues that make flying painful, so it's unlikely I'll ever leave the North American region. I'll never catch one of the other Regionals, so I'd like to have some way to fix that - I would LOVE for them to be Rewards for Research Projects (like "Catch 3 Regionals" and have a chance for one from another region) or even Raid Bosses (we have Absol and Mawlie as Raid-Only, why not have Mr. Mime and Corsola as Raid-Only in other regions?).
