You asked, so please no bragging comments. I have 37: 7 tyranitar, 7 dragonites (1 hurr.), 1 Ho-Oh, 1 Slaking, 2 Groudon, 4 Rhydon, 1 Raikou, 5 Gyrados, 1 Lugia, 1 Rayquaza, 3 Vaporeon, 2 Blissey, 1 Snorlax.
Many of these are level 40. It takes alot of time and effort to get them there, but it's enjoyable for me taking 6 level 40's into a raid. It might seem to be a waste to many, but not to me.
3k Club
I finally got my 30th pokemon yesterday who surpassed 3000 CP. The pokemons who can reach this is small unfortunately but nevertheless, a little diversity is possible. For me I have 10 Dragonite (4 Hurricane) and 5 Tyranitar, so thats already 50% of my 3k mons. How many of those two do you have? Then I got:
Groudon, Slaking, Kyogre, Ho-oh, Lugia, Entei, Raikou, 2 Rhydon, Zapdos, Snorlax, 2 Gyarados, Moltres, Blissey.

That's a respectable number. I'm 37 with 14. 7 Ttars, 6 Dragonites, and a Lugia.
Current project is maxing out a perfect Machamp I caught today. But after that I plan to bring some more into the 3K club such as RayRay, my top Ho-Oh, and my top Groudon. Would like to catch a better Kyogre to do the same. And if the legendary beast or birds make a return, would like to catch a high IV Entei and Moltres to get into the 3K club.
29 total:
10 Tyranitar that I never use (only one through power ups)
3 Dragonite (incredibly rare here (also, no useless hurricane variants))
3 Rhydon, never powered up
2 Blissey
1 Slaking (4k, first and probably last I'll ever evolve)
1 Kyogre
1 Groudon
1 Ho-oh
1 Gyarados. Maxed out today because it was about time I had one (super ultra rare)
1 Raikou
1 Moltres
1 Vaporeon
1 Snorlax
1 Aggron
1 Espeon
Then I did the math and realized I could instantly get about 13 more 3k+cp Tyranitar just through evolving weather-boosted Larvs and Pups, but I almost never use any Ttar other than my 98% maxed one and it's already too annoying having to scroll down to be able to select attackers on my cereal prize cellphone. I evolved the others for an EXraid due to a lack of counters and they have never been outside of their pokeball again. For such a powerful Pokemon, Ttar has little usefulness (since I don't throw away passes on anything other than tier 5s).
I also have 30, don't really pay much attention to it as I'm more interested in maxed mons, many of which don't reach 3k.
Slaking
Groudon
Mewtwo
8 Tyranitar
7 Dragonite
Lugia
2 Snorlax
Raikou
Rhydon
2 Gyarados
2 Blissey
Vaporeon
Moltres
Zapdos
I could pretty trivially add a bunch more by giving a few powerups to 2800+ Garys, Tyranitars and Dragonites, which I may eventually end up doing just for fun.
I will for sure add Rayquaza, Entei, Kyogre and Ho-Oh to the club sometime in the future. If I ever find a 100% Eevee I'll also add Espeon.
