3 major flaws with ex raids and 2 easy solutions

Seperates family/friends from raiding together. Disencourages Raiding while out of town. Invitation cannot be earned, completely random.

An easy solution to #1 and #2 is to simply allow players to use their ex pass at any ex raid. You can only carry one ex pass at a time.

Solution to 3 is just to give out an ex pass at your seventh stop of the week, provided you have done a raid that week.

what do you guys think?

Since EXraids are still i testing stage, your suggestions might be made at the right time.
The appearance of randomnes in the way they choose players, times and places make me think the whole testing is maybe more toward the business, or business to business side of things.
Anyway, i'm positiv that they will make Mewtwo availiable to everyone.

I like the suggestions. Maybe for number 3, make an EX raid pass be a regular raid reward after you complete x number of raids. Like after doing 5 raids of any level, you get one and can have only one at a time.

For #3, you either get an Ex Raid pass, or an evolution item (stone, scale, upgrade etc.).

I think getting 1 Ex Raid per week would just mean people have 10 Mewtwo by the end of the year.

discourages not disencourages

Excuse my spelling policing, your points are correct, especially 2.

your solution to 3 is a good idea, except you have to do a raid every day, not just once a week. Make players really earn their weekly mewtwo pass by raiding consistently.

Meh, I think you described a fair way to do ex raids. That is to say, leave it like it is. It doesn't need tweaking. If 1, 2, or 3 is that prohibitive to fun in the game for you then you're better of playing a different game.

Yeah too late for that, level 40 with 2M dust, 1k rare candy, and several hundred raids. I'll probably get a Mewtwo or two and call it a career.

I think they are missing an opportunity to get players raiding that have yet to find 'teams'.

Players who are active, and active in the gym system but struggle to locate groups could get passes too, so they can meet the groups who are already raiding together.
It may just be a good way to increase the numbers of people raiding...and be an aid to the social interaction thing they are so keen on.

Perhaps a gold (or silver) badge at a gym holding an EX raid could be enough to get a pass.
If you don't have the appropriate badge it shouldn't stop you from getting the pass by the current means...but instead open it up to others who are active but are not yet raiders.

Just a thought...

I want a mewtwo, and there are few other Mon that I would put up with the hassle of getting an ex raid pass to get. I don't like having a game force me to be at a particular time and place. I have a PTC account. So, it was naturally, at the time of my ex raid that various low lifes decided to DOS PTC. I did get in to the raid at the very last minute, but was a nervous wreck, and didn't catch the mewtwo. Now, I have to wait until the next time niantic deans to give me an ex pass to try again. It is really the opposite of fun. I not sure what kind of sadist dreamed up this ex raid system.

1) almost all the players I see regularly at raids received an ex-pass for Saturday.

2) Likely raid passes will eventually be usable at any ex-raid.

3) I would suggest that players who raid every day for 7 days get an ex-pass. One raid a week is not enough to earn one.

  1. No, i would still wager that 95% of players have not received a single pass. The entire city of Sacramento (pop 500k) did not get a single ex raid on this latest pass.
  2. I hope so!
  3. I'm down for this, as long as it's no longer random, we all know how brutal rng can be and we don't need more of it.
