2nd successful Alakazam solo - much easier vs. PC/FS

After finally soloing Alakazam for the first time a couple of weeks ago, against the C/FS moveset, I tried again today against a PC/FS 'Zam raid boss. This moveset is much easier to beat. I won on the first try, with about five seconds left. Lineup was as follows:

L30 Tyranitar B/SE CP 3118 (15 ATT)
L35 Gengar SC/SB CP 2359 (10 ATT)
L33 Gengar H/SB CP 2350 (15 ATT)
L32 Tyranitar B/C CP 3214 (15 ATT)
L30 Tyranitar B/C CP 3110 (15 ATT)
L30 Tyranitar B/SE CP 3102 (15 ATT)

Gengars are the key to soloing Alakazam, in my opinion, at least against the double psychic movesets. Another high-level trainer, whose mons are powered up quite a bit more than mine, failed repeatedly using four B/C T-tars and two double dark Houndooms.

Since the last Tyranitar was barely dented at the end of the battle, I probably could have gotten away with putting in one more H/SB Gengar instead of the second B/SE T-tar, and won even quicker.

In conclusion, Alakazam raid boss with the PC/FS moveset is not especially difficult to solo if you power up 2-3 double ghost Gengars to their final fast-move breakpoint, and fill out the lineup with some level 30+ T-tars, preferably with B/C.

Congrats.

I have similar experiences.
My basic rule for Alakazam sounds like yours - avoid Confusion, avoid Focus Blast and send in the Gengars first to get the clock on your side....then just brute force with TRex.

Thank you, but I think this one particular moveset is the exception in terms of difficulty. You can see that my lineup was nothing crazy, and I had about five seconds to spare. I did very little dodging except for maybe a couple of times with the Gengars.
