I have a lucky 80% 14a/10d/12s Gengar with shadow claw. Is it worth powering up since with those low defense and stamina stats it won't last long in battle.
Does anyone think they will have the Crystal Onix from the Orange islands arc as a community day?
The Gengar is lucky so if you don’t mind soaring the candy and dust you might as well power it up, use it to lead to get damage off early. If you’re good at dodging even better. Many people think Gengar will get a research task or community day so you could always hold onto it.
Gengar will be useful next gen with Giratina raids as well
I think a Shadow Claw Gengar is worth the power up regardless. While true its fragility makes it one of the few cases where having high def/HP IVs is as important if not more so than a high attack IV, it punches pretty large holes in anything weak to its attacks. The fact that it's lucky is icing on the cake, all you need to worry about really is candy cost.
Even with Crystal Onix I don't see people getting excited enough for an Onix CD to make it happen. I still stand by the sunglasses Squirtle only happened since they had the assets made up already for Pikachu, not because people actively wanted it.
