I'd power that Gyarados up like yesterday. Sure, nobody cares about that that horrible Twister but it's perfect and it will sit pretty on most gyms and in gyms CP is king.

Charizard may not be as bad as you think, try it out for prestiging but as for Venusaur, I really have no purpose for poison type moves on my grass types either.

You mean you also got one Gyarados like mine? And maybe only this Gyarados I can power up for the good position in gyms :/ sigh. Thank you!

Not a perfect one like you but I evolved two of them but since my first got DP, I didn't invest in the other two but if I had a perfect one like you I'd power it up immediately and not to 30, to your max level, look at it this way: You won't miss him when he's gone and that's what defenders should be like.

1) I am sorry to say e/dc is pretty useless.
2) will still be ok against vapor, just not as good as a grass charge move
3) The only worth any dust (and only to 30). Not a terrible defender, as Tw is hard to dodge. Moderately useful in attacking water (esp. Slobro/starmie) but you probably have better options for attack.

I honestly believe MS is everything and IV doesnt make much of a difference. With that being said I do track IVs like crazy, watch me appraise all the pokemons like 5 times each, but I have already transfered two 100% pokemons with bad MS (one was gyarados with twister) and thats because I know I just wont use them due to shitty MS, I have no use for them like that, an 80% one with a good MS is so much better. Fact of the matter is, even a 0% one with good MS is better

Gyarados with Twister can still be used as a defender. A perfect IV Gyarados with Twister will still place higher than a lot of other pokemon.

I personally see Gyarados as an attacker and would never place one at a gym, there are better defenders out there like Snorlax, Lapras, Chansey, Blastoise, you knwo, defensive pokemon, stall your enemy. Just like I would never put Alakazam as defender and his top defensive ms is as useless as the rest.
But thats just my opinion and like you said a lot of people just put them for their huge CP, but I am not about that life

True, moveset is much more important than IV. But I know your feeling, I can't get rid of a 100% IV myself. I just keep them as collectibles, but they are useless in gyms.
Personally I think your Venusaur is a decently good niche attacker (whatever "S" is for, Solar Beam (preferred) or Sludge Bomb). So if I'd keep only one it would be that one. Charizard is definitely useless. Gyarados can be kept as a gym defender but don't waste your stardust powering it up.

In venusaur, "s" means Sludge Bomb or Solar Beam?

I'd max out the Gyarados. It will guarantee you a high spot in the gym. Further, due the lack of hp of electric pokemon, twister will still do significant damage when hit.

Put "a" and "c" at gyms, while only maxing out the "c" one.

Venusaur has no bad moveset, it is excellent attacker with VW and excellent defender with RL

Gyarados and Charizard however kind of suck to have that happen but I would hold unto them. In case any way arises to change moves or reroll them it. Gyarados can defend though, twister isn't awful on defense.

I also have a Charizard that got E/DC with 91% IVs that I'm keeping.

E/DC charizard may be of value if mega evolutions (I.e mega zard X, a fire/dragon type) are released in the future

Gyarados may serve as a gym placeholder due to high CP, and venusaur may work as a prestiger

Also if/when battling is released, VW/SludgeB venusaur may have a use. Imagine somebody switches out their vaporeon to their flareon, expecting you to be running a venusaur with Solar beam/P blizz and you hit it for a STAB neutral damage sludge bomb.

Just because it's not the most ideal venusaur in the current meta of Go doesn't mean it won't be useful in the future meta (non-gym battles)
