100% Alakazam

Thanks to the event l was able to hatch a perfect Abra which turned into an Alakazam with Psycho Cut + Future Sight. Now my question is, would you power it up? I know it's a good moveset (Maybe the best one) but I'm kinda scared of investing so much stardust in a pokemon right now because of the new battle system that is coming..

Well, I certainly would power it up to level 30, but I guess it depends on what you need and how strapped for stardust you are.

Then do it! It's a perfect Alakazam with the best moveset, I don't see why not. The gym rework could still take months for all we know...

Gratz! Would really like to hear how he does attacking gyms. I got the same moveset on a lower IV that evolved during the event, but haven't had time to digest all the evolves and see what's really worth pushing up yet.

I don't know too much about investing in Alakazam, but I wouldn't let your choice depend on a possible new battle system in the future.

I agree. Play for now. Nobody knows what the future brings.

Do you have enough defenders already? If not, I'd save it all for the defenders first...

Since you only have 130k dust, I'd hold off.

This is why I try to save some dust in case of meta changes. Like saving for a rainy day, it's wise to just save a little dust just in case (assuming you want to be in gyms).

Yes, you should play and enjoy for the now and saving millions upon heaps of millions dust is not necessary, but having a few hundred k is great. This is all assuming you don't grind for hours on end daily. I play casually and try to keep 500k in reserve (have 700k+ now).

Hatch a Dragonite/Tyranitar/Snorlax during an event, instant maxout...with no concerns or "worry" you'd run out since you can max multiple mons. That feels great and how I "enjoy" the game.

This is exactly the way I think, dust is without any doubt the most difficult resource unless you have unlimited gameplay time or enough credit to keep going 9 incubators all the time...

I always think wisely what I power up, with 130k and gym rebalance around the corner I would not spend any of it (even 1 month or 2 is a small gap in time talking about dust amounts).

Who knows what will happen, they have made changes to Alakazam in particular before, imagine that Psychic becomes a two bar move, it could be again the best charge move in just a second and without any dust to power up another one.

Everyone can play the way they want but knowing that a gym rework is coming it does not hurt to save a good amount of dust. I will have so much fun powering up stuff as soon as the new gym system is out, been saving mine for around 2 months now :D

I am level 37 and have maxed out all of my 100% IV pokemon and shiny.
