Ultra Bonus Incoming!

Thanks for helping Professor Willow by completing over 36 MILLION research tasks! As a result, you’ve helped Spark, Blanche, and Candela make some amazing discoveries—some new, some old, and some relatively unknown. 😉

🌟🌟 ULTRA BONUS ANNOUNCEMENT 🌟🌟
Coming Soon pic.twitter.com/uvrajqF70m
Players were asked to complete 15 million global research tasks per team for the Chicago and Dortmund GO Fests this year, while Yokohama's goal was 25 million. The event attendees were also asked to complete 1 million tasks(Yokohama's goal was 2 million).
Now begins the wait to see what Pokemon may be arriving as part of the Ultra Bonus Unlock for 2019.
Last year, players received the following bonuses starting September 13th, 2018:
- Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres available in Raids until September 20th
- Gen 1 regionals(Farfetchd, Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime, and Tauros) available in 7km eggs until September 30th
- Mewtwo available in Raids from September 20th to October 23rd
What to Expect in 2019
The announcement of the 36 million+ research tasks included some interesting phrasing. The "some new, some old" is quite ominous, but the "relatively unknown" part seems to imply that the ever-elusive Pokemon Unown may be arriving in a larger capacity.
In addition, a follow-up tweet mentioned that players should "make a wish" that might come true for the unlock, a reference to Jirachi, the wish Pokemon. Jirachi was made available to all attendees of GO Fest for 2019.
Make a wish, Trainer. It might just come true during our Ultra Bonus announcement. 😉🌟
