Gengar Power Up Question
Wanted peoples' opinions here b/c I'm conflicted.
So I'm lucky enough to have saved a 100% IV Gengar with Shadow Claw/Shadow Ball (1496 CP - lvl 20)
Seems like a no-brainer to power up right?
But during gen 1 I had already powered up a 96% IV Shadow Claw/Sludge Bomb (2267 CP - lvl 31)
Given most DPS/moveset calculations put them within a few % DPS of each other (most reputable saying 3% difference) is it really worth spending another 100k dust on a Gengar?
On one hand, it's 100% IV, and has the best moveset.
On the other hand, I've already spent 100k dust on a 96% IV with best moveset only to have a new gen replace it.
If I power up the 100% IV and they change the movesets again I'm going to ragequit life.
What would you do??

I'm in a populous area. Gyms around me are basically 3k+
At the gym closest to my house my 3k Vape is 2nd to lowest. 2 ppl below me have already been kicked out by multi-accounters leapfrogging up top (I just put it in yesterday when gym was lvl 4 and was highest CP)
The only Mons i ever see in gyms are basically Tyranitar, Dragonite, Snorlax, Gyarados, and Rhydon with a few Vapes sprinkled in
Edit: OH and Blissey. My God how could I forget all those Blisseys
This is what I was afraid of, lol
I mean, isn't stardust always going to be an issue as the limiting resource?
I have enough right now - about 500k saved up.
But, I just caught 2x new Dragon Tail Dragonites (my first with DT) at level 3 and level 14, and I'm 6 candy away from being able to evolve my first Tyranitar.
So right there we're talking 350k+ dust between the 3 =/
If I power up this Gengar too that will pretty much mean I can't power up any other gen 2 mons for awhile
I'd wait till you are rolling in dust...I'm at over 500k also and am waiting since you don't NEED a SC/SB Gengar currently as Blissey resists all those moves and all defenders were nerfed with the quick move change/rechange...
Since your area is also 3000CP min, probably wiser to just power up top CP defenders for now until gym meta is massively changed this year (according to CEO Henke interview...)
