I can't believe I'm asking a Snorlax question

So many of these questions everyday but I honestly don't know what to do with my Snorlax. I have one 3000CP snorlax with ZH/BS. I'm looking for another one to start powering up as a Defender. I currently have 27 candies:

1 - lvl 20 (78-80%) 1860cp (ZH/HB)
2 - lvl 20 (84%) 1888cp (L/HB)
3 - lvl 24.5 (78%) 2289cp (L/HB)
4 - lvl 16 (62% 14atk/6def/8sta) 1476cp (ZH/BS*)

I recently hatched #1 and was going to start powering him up with my candies. ZH/HB decent for defense. 78% isn't great but not to bad.

But then I got thinking about my 62% one with the legacy moveset BS. Does this moveset make up for his lack of stats? He also would take a lot more candies to get to a decent CP.

3 doesn't have a great defending moveset with L/HB but with 27 candies I could get him up there and start using him regularly in gyms. But not ideal moveset.

Kind of leaning towards #1 but could possibly be talked into #4 with the legacy moveset if you think it makes up for the lack of stats and extra candies needed.

Even with 62% IV, I'd go with number 4. It's a legacy moveset now, it is by far the hardest to dodge, and BS happens so frequently that the battle takes forever if you're dodging.

I'll go with #1 for higher IV and ZH/HB good defensive moveset (comparable to ZH/BS).

ZH-BS is one of the few elite pokemon I was unable to obtain, and it's so damn good now. 62% isn't terrible IV, especially because it's 14 Attack IV, which greatly affects the maximum CP.

I think if you want the best quality defender, ZH-BS is the way to go. If you want slightly higher max CP, go with #1, but for my money you gotta go with Body Slam.

If you're unsure, I've got some legacy DB-DC Dragonites I would definitely trade for a ZH-BS Snorlax

I had to make essentially the same decision myself. I had two legacy Snorlaxes with ZH/BS, but both were only 66% and 68%, while I had a ZH/HB one at 88%.

At the end of the day I thought about which one I'd rather deal with in a gym and the answer is easy. HB is easy to see coming and to dodge, plus I get to spam attacks for a longer time before having to dodge. BS is a pain in the neck. It hits often and without much warning.

Given that, I've spent all my candies so far on the two ZH/BS ones. Haven't regretted it yet.

Yep - I'm gutted I never got a ZH/BS Snorlax (only L/BS at 53-56% IV's). If I had two - I'd be powering them up to level 30 at least.

IV is illusional, compare them CPs at lvl 30.
I guess the #4 is not too bad due to its high atk 14.
Nowadays, a 28xx Z/BS lax + a 27xx/28xx Blissey considered a quite strong gym and the more of them, the better!

Everybody dumps all over ZH/HB...Amd I the only one that has faced a CP3000+ Snorlax with ZH/HB - dodged every HB and still got smacked for a ton of damage dodging?

I don't mind lower IV HB snorlaxes, but once they get around cp3000 the HB is just devastating even dodged.

This is the kind of stuff I'm interested in. Yeah it hits hard when they are that high, even when dodging. Miss one dodge and its lights out.

This is a really tough call for me. I see the merit in both sides.

187.5 damage w/ STAB is pretty ridiculous for Hyper Beam now. Even with dodging that's ~47 damage.

You could power up #1 first since it will take less time to get to whatever CP you need to be at in your local gyms and plan to power up #4 at a later time.
