Dratini/Dragonite - Power Up or Evolve

I have 201 dratini candy. One dragonite I've made by evolution and two I've caught wild. Trying to decide to evolve a new one or power up an existing one. Each current dragonite has some flaw (IV, moves, etc). I'm listing all options. I could use another generalist attacker. I also don't have too many defenders, but the gym scene near me is so fluid that I never hold 10. Stats will be listed as cp, level, IV (stamina/attack/defense), moves.

Dratini
1) CP 652, level 30, 10/10/3
2) 570, 25, 9/15/6
3) 494, 22, 4/11/15
4) 311, 13, 13/15/12
5) 308, 13, 9/15/14
6) 140, 6, 15/15/12

Dragonair
7) CP 622, level 14, 15/13/7

Dragonite
A) CP 1962, level 19.5, 15/11/14, SW/DC
B) 1773, 19, 9/2/3, DB/DC
C) 1510, 16, 8/5/4, SW/DP

Guess I'm not sure if using the candy is worth it to evolve a new one and risk the movesets. The one seems like a decent defender, I guess, but not much on offense. The good attacker has terrible IV distribution, but is the legacy moveset worth it? Again, sorry for the long list. Thank you in advance.

Actually the stat distribution is not that bad, ATK and DEF are Dragonite's highest stats, so IV's have lower impact on those. If you are looking for an attacker, DB/DC is your best choice, specially if you like to dodge. With all honesty, I wouldn't invest candy in evolving the dratinis/dragonair you listed.

I don't evolve anything under lvl 20 unless it has over 90% iv's and nothing under 82% period.

To me the, I would take the DB/DC to a level where you are confortable attacking with him, I generally don't power up attackers because they already have so much advantage going into a battle that it's not really necessary unless speed is absolutelly crucial.

For me, Dratini candy is so rare, that I don't use it lightly, if dratini candi is easy to get for you, then by all means go for the highest IV dratini that you have

I would evolve # 4 and see what moves you get if you want an attacker. You would have almost enough candy to take it to level 30 if you get something you like, and if not still be more than halfway to another attempt. If you want a high CP defender I'd suggest you power up "A"

Oh how RNG has blessed you. I think you have a plethora of options.

If you evolve either 1 or 2, you'll have an attacker right away - albeit with a random moveset you may or may not like. Of course, SW/HB (arguably his worst moveset) doesn't have science to back it up, but a dragonite is still a dragonite.

  1. 2892 CP
  2. 2466 CP
  3. 2156 CP
1 and 2 would be usable right away - while 3 is a few levels from being effective.

Depending which route you choose initially, you can then pump up A or B - even C to an extent. If you go 1 and A or B, you could potentially have 2 lvl 29/30 dragonites. Honestly, SW/DC doesn't look appealing on offense, but its arguably the 4th best offensive moveset (out of 11) at lvl 30.

Therefore I would go 1 and A.

i would gamble and choose no. 6. With some luck you got Dt and Outrage / hurricane and it will destroy gyms.
If it has a bad moveset you wastet 125 candies.

the safe option would be 1, dust and candy
