observation on espeon and umbreon
I didn't get the best move sets with the name trick and used up all the high iv eevee I'd saved trying to get more, before I learned that you need to buddy to evolve these two. Also after gen 2 came out eevees became more rare in my area. Umbreon's move sets seem closer to equivalent than Espeon's. So, I decided to live with what I got for the time being. It looked like zen headbutt/future sight would be effective against Blissey. So, I wanted that move set, and walked 40km with mediocre mons to get it. I think it was worth it. I can also say that an Umbreon with a so-so move set absolutely wrecks eggs, and presumably other psychic types.

Thanks for the update mate. I'm glad to hear that Umbreon is effective against Eggy, I can't wait to get that underrated cutie and start bringing some big boys down.
I've spent a bit of time looking at Umbreon's movesets and think that the quick move is here nor there, Feint Attack for a bit better dodging, Snarl for a bit better DPS considering it's EPS.
But I've definitely got my fingers crossed for a Foul Play over a Dark Pulse. The extra second that it takes to cast Dark Pulse is more than made up for by being able to use a quick move after a Foul Play in the same time.
