Those are definitely desirable and super useful move sets...nether of which I have! I'd definitely boost those guys. I was out using my newly re-invigorated PC/P today and couldn't help thinking how there is no way that Confusion on this mon (where dodging is critical) can be practically better than PC. And I've heard Future Sight is incredible.

Golem & Alakazam power up question
I've been wanting to power up a Golem and an Alakazam for the longest time, since they're awesome mons imo and they have pretty high CP as well. I've waited for good movesets for so long since both Geodude and Abra are pretty rare where I live. Now with the latest rebalance I'm seriously considering these two:
Golem, lvl 20, 89% IV, Rock Throw + Ancient Power
He's the only Golem I ever evolved and the only pure Rock attacker in my team. He only now became usable with both his moves receiving nice buffs (RT is even pretty fast now). I know Stone Edge would be ideal, but I'd have to wait months to get another try - plus Ancient Power is legacy now which adds nice style points.
Alakazam, lvl 20, 84% IV, Psycho Cut + Future Sight
Again, Confusion would be the ideal quick move here but PC is way faster (better for dodging) and charges energy quicker, which is quite important with a charge move that powerful. And I'm not really looking forward to the possibility of getting yet another one with Shadow Ball.
Thoughts, anyone?

I had the same problem with my Alakazam.. but with the recent update PC has a dps 8.33 and a high 13.33 eps (total of 21.66) unlike Confusion with 12.5 dps and 9.38 eps (total of 21.88). So there is that confusion looks better but honestly not by much and PC with a cooldown of just 0.6 sec is way better for dodging gyms then confusion si a 1.6 sec cooldown. I have the same Alakazam with PC+ FS and I power him up to the max.
I have used max'd out Pc/P C/P C/Fs Alakazam...and I am dying to get my hands on Pc/Fs - it is no contest.
Confusion isn't fast enough to dodge, and he is a glass cannon - he NEEDS to dodge effectively, and Fs hits like a truck.
This isn't based 'on paper', this is actual usage.

As for Golem...double Rock moves have become more desirable with Gen2 and the recent updates. If you think you will get use out of it, then go ahead.
My first power up from that choice would be the Alakazam.
I wouldn't be unhappy with them. Like you said they aren't the most ideal but they're still pretty good.
Ancient Power is now actually usable over your quick move unlike previously, and with a charge moves being buffed so that they are a larger portion of your overall damage than before, it's not cut and dry to say that the quick move which has higher DPS is always better, so Psycho Cut + Future Sight is definitely a strong moveset, even if it might not be the best theoretically, take what you get.
If all you care about is having the best moveset to collect and max out, then don't power them up. If you want Pokemon that'll do well in battle, these will do so and you won't notice a significant difference in efficiency between these movesets and the best ones.
Moves are back to being fast now so attacking has become easier once again, so you don't need best movesets to help avoid being timed out by a Blissey anymore.
