Hidden Power shown as a water move

I just evolved a Starmie and got Hidden Power as the quick move, which I found was labelled with a water symbol (see screenshot), even though it was supposed to be a normal type move.

I tried using the move against Tyranitar and it was super effective (forgot to record that fight) even though normal moves shouldn't have been super effective against Tyranitar.

I this a glitch, a bug? Does anyone else experience this?

In the original game, HP type is base on IV i think u got water typing.

nice! Idk if hidden power is better than WG.

There is a database here where you can submit your mon's hidden power and what not.

Mine has plant type attack for hidden power, there is a survey on this site, looks like it is randomly distributed with a certain type.

I just evolved a Staryu, it has dragon type hidden power. My Porygon2 has a psychic.

I wish my Porygon 2 got Dragon or Psychic... Mine had perfect atk iv and ended up with ghost which doesn't seem very good

And hidden power might be the best quick move in the game now seeing as it has such high EPS and charge moves are now you inflict damage now

No you just need to live in the states above a pokestop like trnrtips... You get all pokemons and gps drifting does youre fucking eggs.....
