Since this site doesn't really tell you what pokemon are rare+, i was wondering which pokemon are consider to be that in this gen 2? I ask because im not familiar with Gen 2 at all really and would be helpful if they had a page or a list of pokemon that are rare+.
Tyranitar = Dragonite for all intents and purposes.
Donphan and Ursaring may be location dependent, but are probably slightly more rare than average. Ampharos will probably be rare. I'd compare these three to Arcanine/Exeggutor/Rhydon of gen 1.
The starters are obviously akin to gen1 starters (although Meganium seems incredibly weak unfortunately).
I would list Heracross since it's top tier, but it sounds like it will be South America regional exclusive which is total BS
It's not BS because of logic, it's BS because of popularity and strength.
Mr Mime, Tauros, and Farfetch'd were all not-popular and very weak pokemon. Kangaskhan was also slightly BS, but still wasn't exactly strong.
Heracross was one of the ~5 pokemon in Gen 2 to actually be excited about. It was also a core pokemon in the anime which resulted in it being one of the most popular pokemon in gen 2. To take a pokemon that almost everyone would have wanted regardless of power, give it a lot of power, then make it a regional exclusive - that's BS.
